  1. We replaced ours about 6 years ago. Went with Carrier (mid efficiency). We have a suite so needed 2. Cost us about $4000-$4500 each if I remember correctly. Carrier did have some incentives that lowered the cost. The installer was a grumpy old guy, but knew his stuff. The city inspector mentioned that he has never had a problem with this particular installer ever (which was really great to hear)! We didn't need a high efficiency furnace as our house was built in '68 and it's not as well sealed as the houses built these days so wouldn't be worth the extra $...
  2. Contact "smitty" (Mike) up in Edmonton he does a class at his school. He might chime in Here

  6. You can cut out the neoprene booties and gravel guards and use those for wet wading (if you do that)... P
  7. Great list you forwarded Roast, but many of those trails in K country and in Banff are closed, unfortunately...
  8. I always figured there was a reason why you do so well at Beaver Don!! Busted!!
  9. And of course being an extremely ethical and stand up guy, you let them know of their mistake!!
  10. I think it might be a Poltergeist Don... Everything miraculously started to work again this aft!!

  12. Asked this on another form, but thought I would post here as well... So over the last 2-3 days pretty much all our remotes stopped working (SHAW satellite, VIZIO TV, even the DVD player which we no longer use). Original TV remote doesn't work anymore, satellite (universal) remote will work the satellite pvr sporadically, and works 1 cm away from the IR sensor and barely operates the TV (again sporadically from 1 cm away from the sensor - after re-entering all appropriate codes). Like I mentioned, it just started a few days ago, up until then, everything was working fine. I even went to SHAW and bought a new remote (previous remote was purchased in May), even changed out all the batteries to new... I've tried pretty much every suggested fix online (general and specific for the brand of tv). The other info I've read is that there is IR interference (from what, I have no idea - as we have not purchased any new electronic equipment)... Anyone have any solutions, or can explain what is happening?! Thanks, P

  18. Hey gang, My wife recently opened up her own Psychology practice and we would really value some (non psychologist) feedback on her website... http://www.healingmindspsychology.ca/ Thanks in advance! Peter (and Deb)
  19. We were up there a few weekends ago and did ok! Falls were great, but a pretty strenuous hike, south side rocks are pretty good as well. I'm pretty sure you already know that you require a NP license and a backcountry permit to camp. But you will be the only ones up there, Im sure. A side trip to O'Brian would be reco'd, as well!! Let us know how you make out! P
  20. Most of the easier lakes like Ribbon, Lillian, Galatea, pickle jar are all closed, so you don't have many options unless you want to go into Banff NP , eg Taylor Lake (6 km and C & R), but a nice campground. There is also the Point campground or the forks on upper k.
  21. Thanks! P
  22. Is Glenmore Launch officially open?! P
  23. Elbow Lake is now open. All the others I would reco are around 6 or 7 km with a bit more elevation gain. P
