  1. Hey I tried!! Was trying to get spiffed P
  2. Hell go for the Patagonia Deep Wading Jacket BBB (Brent) is selling on the Trading Post thread (if its your size).... Heck of a jacket with the best guarantee in the world!! I'd ask him to lower the price though ;-) If not, try to find one at Elements they might have a few left and a great price as well (or online), I even think Brent's store (Bow River Troutfitters) has them on sale! All the reviews are stellar with it and it's cousin the SST jacket. I have the SST and it ROCKS!! P
  3. Good on ya! Thanks for the beta! P
  4. Cohod, Sorry to hear! Do you need to borrow some gear?! I have a spare 8 1/2' 6/7 with rim drag reel (it's the on the girlfriend will be using that she won't be using until may). I know it's not even close to what you were using, but it's yours until you replace your gear... Cheers, Peter
  5. Though I haven't floated with him,. per se, I hear Dee Chatani at Trout Chasers is Great!! (www.troutchasers.com). As well, I hear from others on the board that the folks at "Fish Tales" are 'top notch". For walk & wades' go with Maxwell (again, haven't fished with him, but hear tons of great things from other on the board)... P

  10. Ha! 2 in two months! One was definitely my fault, the other had to be manufacture defect... The section was replaced for free, so it was just a hassle waiting for it to come in!! P
  11. The Headstart was for both my GF's & nephew's rods/reels. I was testing them out and I REALLY like the line!! I can ALMOST cast as far as Brent and it floats very high! P
  12. J, Where you seeing the venture for under $100?! P
  13. Thanks for all of your suggestions! Cheers! P
  14. TimW is selling one (I think) on the Trading post. I've purchased from him before and he's stand-up!! P
  15. Thanks for the heads-up Harps! Cheers! P
  16. Use a flash as well! P
  17. Great to hear feedback like that from another standup company!! Thanks for sharing! P
  18. A little bit, but is shouldn't be a problem as when you remove the sink tip, it should float again - unless you have cheap line that you have cut and not sealed with zap-a-gap, etc. and therefore will get water logged, but then you can just dry it out. I've been using a sink tip with my floating line and seriously haven't had any problems! You should also regularly clean your line and dress it (check with the different manufactures so that you don't ruin your line). I use SA lines and use their cleaning cloths and dressing, so I cannot comment on what else is available for other brands. P
  19. Interesting! Though I can't find it anywhere online!! Thanks, P
  20. Yes which is the reason for my inquiry... I was wondering if it has been reissued an updated. P
  21. I was given this book years ago ('89) for my b-day from my sister and was showing it to DrBulet last night. What an extremely comprehensive book. I don't think it is in print any longer, but does any one else have it? I understand that it is extremely rare as I have been offered $ for it! P
  22. Ha ha! Thanks island guy! Warning received. I was given this rod (and reel) for my b-day from my parents (bought it for me at Frenchie's years ago for those that remember), it still catches fish! And when we head out canoeing/rafting, etc. it is all she'll need for learning. Cheers! P
  23. Probably pretty good, and very quiet! You'd get wet (obviously) Make for some great photos though!! Drive safe!
