  1. I'll be the 1st (we'll 2nd, actually) Get a Mac!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Chris are you talking tomorrow?! No can do, BIG day tomorrow. Saturday is most like a bust as well. Next week is promising?! Sorry dude! P
  3. The launch is pretty much ice free, but could be sketch on some of the boulders, should be manageable. Another option would be anywhere by Burnsmead a little bit of a trek on crutches but definitely doable! Doulgasdale by the ballpark is also accessible... Depending on when you go, I would/could go with you to make sure you get to where you wanted to go and to fish/hang out, though scheduling would be the crux, I'm sure others would volunteer as well! Peter
  4. Sorry I thought you were tying a standard SJW...
  5. Yeah I tie'em with red yarn (depending on the thickness of the yarn I may double it up) over lead wire with or without a bead. I use both thin wire or thicker mylar for the ribbing and am considering flashaboo. The ones I tie also do not have a tail or tag end at the head (have never had any luck with those chenille ones). Also, I find using wire too heavy tough the last one I tied also had a bead, so that may have been why... Cheers, Peter
  6. Maybe you should have taught her how to hold your rod properly
  7. AWESOME story and yes paying "it" forward, acts of good karma and being a good "steward" towards our natural resources can often result in many rewards (but should be the reward in itself)!! P P.S. So... did you get the daughter's phone #?! lol
  8. Hey Maxwell, Thanks for the feed back. Of course my suggestion was in lieu of the annual clean up and is something we can do every time we get out in order to get a head start (not that we'll ever be able to get a hold of it - ever! But we can try Cheers! P
  9. Trust me, you don't want to do it! Keep your hand on the cork!! Peter
  10. Hi gang! I have been noticing lately (since the snow/ice has melted) that a lot of garbage has started to surface in and around the river. From now on I am going to be bringing a small garbage bag with me and am going to be picking up (at least) 10 pieces every time I get out (either before I start chucking or afterwards). I would encourage you all to do the same. Question for all of you that smoke (no judgments) but do you throw your butts on the ground or take them with you? How would you want it to be brought up (or would you want to be reminded) if someone saw you throw your butt on the ground? Is there a polite way to bring it up with out getting punched out?! Cheers! Peter
  11. Great question! Though I'm not sure of the answer, but would wrapping the tippet around the split shot cause a weak point?!
  12. We should all have this info well at hand every time we head out! Report A Poacher (RAP) toll-free phone number 1-800-642-3800. I met the new conservation officer at FC during the Family Day holiday, his name is Cory (former RCMP) and had a great conversation about this sort of thing. Keep your eye's and ear's open folks, but don't take the law into our own hands, just be observant and diligent! Peter
  13. Any of you boy/girls have a good Winter Stone pattern... Rickr has inspired me... Cheeriodely, Peter
  14. Gary, I tied a couple of dem dar midges this aft (#18's - which is the smallest I've tied to date, not sure how you even see those #20's!!) Will let you know how they work in the next couple of days! Cheers Peter
  15. Though I haven't fished with him, yet... Gary will show you how to get'em (his reputation precedes him or his ego, not sure which )!! Good on ya, streamguy! Peter
  16. Nope, no fix as of yet - or at least none that anyone has suggested... Just have to bare with it... P
  17. They all have a high prevalence of "A D D", as well (I used to sell A D D meds) P
  18. Great info Don! Thanks! I have definitely heard about this before... Question (may be basic, but that's not a bad thing, now is it!!)... How does one determine whether their rod(s) is/are over/under weighted? Trial & error I suppose (and chucking a bunch of rod/line combos - may or may not be realistic), but is there any tell tale signs/symptoms, or hard and fast general rules to help one determine if their rods(s) are over/under weighted?! Especially newbie/beginner/intermediate fly anglers... Thanks, Peter
  19. Great photos Tako! Thanks for sharing! peter
