Good if you drive a lot out of range of city stations (I know a lot of people that love it for this very reason!). But Calgary has crappy radio anyway (unless you stream off your home/work computer), so it's probably worth the $ (but almost too much choice, ya know?!) P

I use a 6 ft section of lead core with a loop connector at either end, works great, easy to switch! Seems like the SA L2L connectors would work as well, but don't have too much exp. with them, maybe others on the site do?! Peter

Gang, My girlfriend is going to be adopting my 6/7 wt rod and I want to put a new reel on it for her... It is a lower end rod, and she'll be using it "occasionally". I'm thinking of putting a SA Headstart 7 wt line on it and was thinking of a TFO Mayfly reel with a LA cassette (want to keep the reel under $100). Does anyone have exp with this reel or can recommend another "less expensive" quality reel for her adopted rod? Cheers! Peter

If it doesn't have a loop, try putting on a loop connector that way you don't have to cut it... P

Sun, 1st off, are they hardwood or laminate?! To clean hardwood both Martha Stewart and I use a sink full of steeped tea (orange peko) - use a rag on the dry side of damp. An old supervisor of mine had me clean a gym floor with ammonia and water (again on the dry side of damp)... I have also used vinegar and water (on the dry side of damp) and all three work very well! Hardwood is pretty hardy stuff, just try to avoid dragging furniture (with out felt pads) or dropping things on it, but scratches and dents will happen over time, but will give it some character... P

Last week I was walking through a braid and almost stepped on a big brownie, literally!! I've done this before, but usually in the late summer evening but never this shallow!! Freaks me out every time it happens, as you don't really expect it (except with suckers)! P

Pseudo, i can definitely appreciate what you are saying! It's just what I've been taught for all the reasons, Brent mentioned (I float occasionally, as well and give shore people lots of room, and pull my line, but that's just me)... You are right, if not pulling their lines, then definitely swing to the opposite side (still, this is the exception to the rule, in my exp.). Nobody owns the water, nor the fish in it, but logically, the boaters do get to cover more water (and better water) and us shore folk, have to be happy with what we have, and is more difficult for us to potentially move to another locale. I also agree that we are expected to mirror the courtesy (and I do). Cheers! Peter

Though I am not a spey caster, I find this thread very interesting!! Boats on the water (whatever the variety) should give the people on shore the "right of way" (so to speak)! I am constantly surprised (to the point where I actually yell at the boaters to pull their lines) that the majority of boaters on the Bow, do not!! I hope it isn't any of the folks on this board, nor any of the local guides. I haven't got to the point of throwing rocks, but that's a great idea! Just kidding ;-) Boaters, please pull your lines so that us shore folk can have some success, as well! Cheers! Peter

Home Depot BLOWS I HATE shopping there!! I was there today and got so P*ssed off I left as they couldn't find what I was looking for (after 1/2 an hour), even though the computer said there was 5 in stock (and that was 2 employees looking for me)! Sheesh, if it wasn't for the fact that I live less then 5 blocks away, I would boycott them all together... Argh!!! P

More is ALWAYS better, you can take off a layer if need be. My reco would be a light pair of polypro long johns and a thicker fleece pair. One pair of Poly liner socks and a thick pair of wool or polly socks! Tight lines! Peter

Reg, I have never fished there, but would HIGHLY recommend if your hiking in to go through Sunshine Meadows. Sure it's a little longer of a hike, but much more interesting as far as hikes go!! Going through the Bryant Creek route is EXTREMELY tedious and boring!! Just my opinion... Have a great trip, it's a SPECTACULAR area (also, not sure on the permit requirements as it's a BC Provincial Park). Peter

Yeah, check out Map 15 page 268, (Trail 100 pg 222) looks like you go from 3 Isle , up Beatty Creek , down LeRoy Creek to North Kananaskis Pass to Turbine (10.5 Km so doable in a day for sure)! Hell, I might even join you!! P

I had a guy that the Mazda dealership uses (and reco'd). The 3 chips I had done haven't spread and it's been a year) He seems pretty reasonable (the more you have the lower the price of the additional repairs - pretty common price structure I understand). Al, I have been looking into the Outcast Pac 1300 (more interested in the 1400 but seems like they don't sell them in canada). $$$, so some day. I have a small raft I currently use now that I built some bench seats and beefed up the oar locks for and it works ok for short floats. Remember Montana doesn't have sales tax, so it works out pretty good if you can go down and pick it up... P
