  1. I was nailing some HUGE bullies last May on a beige sculpin pattern that I purchased at Russle's. P
  2. Bike in as far as you can (not sure if the regs have changed) as the sectiion to Bryant Creek shelter is a long (and VERY boring) hike. My suggestion if hiking is to do the extra kms and go through Sunshine Meadows, much more scenic!! Or if you are wealthy, fly in and hike out. Just my opinion... Sorry, I have no info on the fishing in the area, but there have been people posting info regarding the Assiniboine PP area previously. "Fly Fishing the Canadian Rockies" is a great reference (though somewhat outdated). Here what it says for the Marvel area: Marvel Lake - Cutts to 75 cm Lake Terrapin - Cutts to 40 cm Lake Gloria - Cutts to 50 cm Mavel Pass Lake - Devoid Owl Lake - Brooks to 35 cm Bryant Creek - Cutts to 35 cm Spray River (Upper) - Cutts to 30 cm Watridge Lake (AB) - Cutts to 50 cm Leman Lake - Cutts to 70 cm Belgium Lake - Cutts to 35 cm Palliser Lake - Devoid Back Lkae (BC) - Devoid For each lake listed there are some details, i.e., access info, etc., included (too much to write up) P
  3. Was out doing an avalanche course last weekend and at that time conditions were sh*te!! They were getting some snow up top when we left so I'm not sure if it improved any, but my guess is it wouldn't be worth it... Cheers, Peter
  4. A big Texas sized Happy Birthday! Keep on keep'in on! Peter
  5. Gang, I've been trying to tie my own loops at the end of the line - I can tie a nail knot (with a cut piece from a ball point pen tube), but it never comes out consistently neat... Yeah, I realize that practice makes perfect, but is there a tool that can help with my consistency?! Is there one that's better then the next?! If so, which one (and why?)?! Thanks, Peter
  6. Yeah, you might be right Terry, but it looks god-awful (character or no character)
  7. If you are using aquaseal, make sure you put it on the inside to avoid those ugly aquaseal smears on the outside ;-) P
  8. Great vid, as always... But did you really need to pick the flower?!
  9. A1 Pizza Plus on Bow Trail!! Not really near Sundance, I realize, but well worth it!
  10. Rods should be no problem but depending on the aircraft (Beech, Dash or RJ) you might have to sky check the rod(s). Also you have to put all your hooks in your checked baggage. P
  11. I was by there today as well and thanked them in person! P
  12. I've tried to e-mail them a couple of times now, and it's bounced back all three times... I'll have to call or drop in... P
  13. If you don't mind me asking... What was the trail/Lake called/named.. P
  14. I've had guides on the west coast use it!! Nice!
  15. Most common- Bottle caps or drinking straws, shot gun shells. Not necessarily unique, but tampon applicators, flip-flops, full beers, and a ton of styrofoam. P
  16. You both did an AWESOME job organizing this year's Bow River Clean-up. Cheers! Peter & Deb
  17. I concur, fish creek and southland, for sure!! P
  18. Rethinking the whole idea... What about a most garbage collected competition!? P
  19. Matt, Walk and Wades at Policemen's SUCK (I know people on here will disagree) - I've caught only 1 fish w & w'ing there (in about 3 or 4 trips)... The ticket is to float that section, I've had AMAZING days (with Leadhead) down at P F... IMHO, there are better places to W & W... Don't waste your time w & w'ing at P F! P
  20. A jigger = 1.5 oz (it's a "true shot" as opposed to what you usually get in a bar)! P
