  1. Not to be a downer, but my vote is to keep the focus on the actual clean-up... Peter
  2. Thanks Max! P
  3. So we hiked into a high mtn lake today (for obvious reasons, I won't disclose the name or locale) and I had an absolutely STELLAR day with the biggest cutties I've ever (consistently) caught in a high mtn lake (3 in 5 minutes over 15" - the first one in 30 sec - 1st cast!!), anyway, enough bragging... So one of the cutties was a buck and was super orange in colour (I initially thought he was bleeding when I first hooked him)! I was under the impression that these were "spawning colours" and that cutties spawned in the spring... What's up?! Peter
  4. Scroll back a few months on this thread as there has been a few previous inquires (sorry don't have time to find the specific URLs). Let us know how you do. Cheers, P
  5. They got rid of pennies in Australia and New Zealand quite a few years ago and have saved BILLIONS!! P
  6. I'm no pro, but from what I've been told before, 50% is on par. It is supposed to have something to do with the way the hook faces and where they get hooked... It's more the technique, i.e. the actual swing, and less the skill, i.e the angler (but I'm sure a few on here will disagree!)! Cheers, P
  7. Great advise on the insurance! Cheers! P
  8. Needing to rent a storage unit in the next couple of days... Anyone have and tips, tricks or recos, etc.?! Thanks in advance. Cheers, Peter
  9. Did you turn the lights out in the pool?! As that would effect the visible light! P
  10. Great look to go with the Louis Vuitton rod case I posted a while back!! P
  11. I've always liked (and will consider purchasing once I get a spare $5000) the Outcast Pac 1300 or 1400 raft. All the advantages of a drift boat that have been listed, and no storage issues!! P
  12. A good friend of mine's partner (both are Mtn Guides out of Golden) was attacked by a griz this summer. He was lucky to only receive 20 sutures!! The photos were brutal!! So it does happen!! P
  13. Nice work Crazy! P
  14. Yeah it's city ordinance, but I'm not sure if the Federal one supersedes the city one... Any lawyer, cop, CO, bylaw officer on the board want to clear it up?! P
  15. Yup, Colin is your man! P
  16. Due to work and family commitments, neither Rick (Rickr) nor myself will be able to continue with the execution of the Bow River Clean up activities for this summer. If there is anyone else that is able to assist with this please contact me and I will pass along the appropriate documents. We apologize for the late notice... Peter & Rick
  17. Rick, sadly, I think you're getting old and slowing down a bit!! P
  18. Yeah I hear ya Chris... Some people just won't get it, either way... Our tax dollars are paying for those verbal and written warnings!! I say, what about "cost recovery"?! :$*%&: :$*%&: P
  19. Stephen, There are a few holes around Prince's Island but way better places to fish on the lower (Calgary) section in and arouund Fish Creek. Drop me a PM when you get to town and if I'm available I can show you a few spots. Cheers, Peter
  20. Yeah, try a new type of knot and see if that helps better then wasting a whole spool... Just my $0.02 worth! P

    Reel Grease

I use a grease intended for bike bearings ("Phil's Tenacious" - SUPER inexpensive at MEC). Light and water proof! A little will go a long way so it will last you a very long time!! P
