darrinhurst
All this talk about water temperatures, makes me want to pick up thermometer before my next trip out. What do you guys recommend for a good stream thermometer? Do the infrared ones work? Sorry for the hijack.

Darren, the Fishpond fishing thermometers are perfect, infra-red will only read the surface temp http://fishpondusa.com/product/detail/swift-current-thermometer/1992

BurningChrome
Yeah, the Fishpond one is nice because the metal casing makes it sink as well as protects it from breaking. Get a length of paracord or something to loop through it so you don't lose it in the current.
