RunnyD Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 Sold a lot of my old gear and made a tidy profit at the craps table last night. I'm a gear head so looking for something to blow it on. Any suggestions? Quote
Guest bigdirty Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 sage circa 8'9" 5wt. feels like a million bucks in the store. Quote
RunnyD Posted April 20, 2014 Author Posted April 20, 2014 That's the thing. I really don't need any fly fishing gear. I have two inflatables, a quiver full of rods and reels to match. It's one of those questions, "what do you get a guy (as in myself) that has everything (fly fishing ie.) that he needs?". Quote
Chadillac Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 invest it in Lockheed Martin. The USA is bound to be at war again Quote
Guest bigdirty Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Get a Fishpond Nomad net..... where can you find one of those? Quote
bigalcal Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 I was at Fish Tales Saturday and they (Nomad nets) aren't in yet. They will let me know. Quote
RunnyD Posted April 21, 2014 Author Posted April 21, 2014 Already have a pontoon net and a smaller for rivers and creeks. hmm... didn't think it was this challenging. How about something like this...? http://www.abelreels.com/store/Abel-Pliers.html Quote
bigbowtrout Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Get the Abel Hybrid Hemostat and clippers as well. 1 Quote
Smitty Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 If you already have enough gear, then... Buy some memories. Go somewhere for some early spring fishing. Or save for a later date in the summer and take the trip then. But if you really have all the gear you need, spend the $ on a bucket list, never-been-there location. Smitty Quote

SkwalaStonefly Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 I would put the money aside towards a trip to an exotic place (Patagonia, New Zealand) and guide fees while you're there. Quote
mcleod52 Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Grab a guide on The Bow, purchase few spectacular cigars and some good scotch. Great day on the river ... Stew 2 Quote
