  1. Awesome buck in that first pic ...
  2. Big changes. Just connected for the first time in a couple of months ....
  3. I now live just across the water from Bainbridge Island and can confirm the $40 for a Sage repair. Only difference is, I can call ahead, take a ferry over and be hooked up right away - i.e walk away with my broken tip section. :-) I'd also recommend the tour of the facility if you're ever in the area. Did that for my birthday this year and it was excellent. Receptionist even sang happy birthday to me over the factory intercom.
  4. Nice work, great way to capture things for you and your buds.
  5. Don't poo-poo Sage's warranty. I can take a ferry over and get a rod fixed the same day. Try that with Winston.
  6. I have a pair of the green MJ's and a pair of the amber MJ's. The amber glasses are my goto lenses and I use them 80% of the time. The green I tend to throw on during very bright days where they seem to help with contrast a bit better.
  7. Look at a used Winston BIIx. I grabbed a used one a couple years back and it is my go-to 5wt. Great action with a great back bone to launch flies for the big casts.
  8. I had a similar problem on my St Croix 3wt. Ignored the issue until I was floating the Yak back in October. Then the reel seated completed detached itself from the rod. Luckily my buddy had duct tape on board so I could continue to fish. I sent the rod back to St Croix who fixed it for $20. Stew
  9. I'd second the Redington 2/3. I have one I use with my Redington CT2. Stew
  10. I do the google spreadsheet too. One tab for each year. I record: flow, water temp, air temp, date, time, fish count and a comments area for random thoughts. Only been doing it 9 years, but the flow information probably helps me out the most. Stew
  11. I started fishing the Bow and Elbow as a kid back in the 70's. but just chucked gear back then. Did not start fly fishing until the early 90's. Moved out of the area in 96 but try and manage to get back once or twice a year since. Since my move, most of my fishing is down here in Washington State. I chuck gear at salmon but spend most of my fishing in the streams around here for trout.
  12. Agree with jtaylor above. Often a little chat clears things up - one way or the other.
  13. Best keep you in the back of the boat ... just saying :-)
