im not reading 8 pages of this, but if i could have a wish list, it would be to have no snow after easter, i'm tired of it in may and june and to actually have a summer where the average temperature was 28-30 degrees with a whole lot less wind and not have summer show up for a week in july and a week in september -
Use The Car Wash!

i did, thank you and i'm happily divorced if you had read the rest of it you would have noticed where i said i had gone 2 years living on one end of the city and worked at the other and used transit the whole time. after awhile 4 hours a day on bus/bus/train/bus, got to be a little too much. At that point we had split up and so i couldnt use his personal truck anymore. so i had to buy my own. and yes, if the developer isnt going to put in a back alley then there needs to be a conession on the type of houses built and the city should not approve 6ft between houses for reasons other than where the drive way goes but the result would be more room for parking. most families have at least 2 vehicles, that is the reality of today. Calgary sucks to get around using transit if you have to go any major distance. taking the bus to get groceries and taking a taxi back just costs too much. also i mentioned that he was a forman, he had a work truck that was manditory that he use during the day but not for personal use. the project truck belonged to his friend. so in essence we only had one truck each, which was clearly stated. i'm not blaming anyone for anything. she didnt have to start by using threats, she could have just come over and discussed the situation in a manner condusive to producing a solution to her complaint. which was my whole point in the first place, if you jump up and down and act like a raving lunitic to a complete stranger, the person isn't going to listen to you no matter what you have to say, that's just the way people are. you get in someones face about something they are going to be defensive. you want to jump on me, go ahead, my shoulders can handle it. i'm a strong woman. but before you do, would you at least read everything and then call me out on something useful and not previously rectified thank you Yak, that was actually pretty funny. -
i bought the Amundson Trend 9/10 wt for my 8wt specifically for pike. it is really light and also saltwater friendly, which is why i bought it. so i can use it on pike and if i end up doing a saltwater trip next year, im good to go

So what, now you are trolling for responses from me??? i wonder if either you or MV had noticed that I did not report either one of you for being disrespectful, name calling and the usage of slurs against me? the 'i did notice' was in reference to the perfect angel and not making the connection. i did make the connection and chose not to comment on MV's comments. i didnt take your flippant apology as sincere, which is why i didnt comment on that either. i never said that parking beside the neighbours house, on a public road, next to city property easement access, because there is no other place to park on the street due to lack of parking caused by poor city and developer planning was mature or not. Only simply that i do not respond to raving luntics who threaten me or bully me in to being intimidated so they can get what they want. it wont happen and i made my point with her that she couldnt push me around. However, i fail to see how standing up for yourself is immature. once she backed off and stopped calling bylaw every day to messure the distance from the T intersection to my bumper and the fire department for hazardous waste spills and stopped leaving threatening notes on my windshield, my neighbour's windshield and the guy down the street's windshield is when i backed off and when i could park else where i did. i dont see where the joke was even remotely close to being a lecture and i've even made reference to me being that girl. so back to what i said before, get know me before you judge me. i was thanking Teck and Pipestone for standing up for me in relation to the bitch comment. so please, i dont care if you agree or dont agree with me or anyone else, you dont have to be a jerk about it. perhaps you dont comprehend or maybe you do but you responses are so poorly worded that you keep coming off like you are trying to insult me. so let's leave it at that. -
thought we didnt need a guiding license here?!? buy a fishing license for $26, have boat, will float... when did guide licensing start?

How To Teach Women To Fly Fish
ladystrange replied to ladystrange's topic in General Chat - Fishing Related
you are on the right track Don. i re-learned in a shorter period of time than most of the men i know who started in their 30's +. I picked up the sublties from watching and reading and fishing with those who have many many years experience. i have found that in talking to a number of women over the years is that there are a number of obsitacals. there is the misconception about it being power sport rather than a sport of patience and finess. 1. don't want to touch the fish because they are slimy (my mom is a perfect example, can catch fish but will not touch them. i had to do it) 2. those with more timid personallities are intimidated, there is the mystique of it being a boys club and they dont know how or where to fit in 3. they dont have anyone to do it with 4. too difficult and technical 5. dont want to look stupid i think the key may be to target the kids first and offer lessons to mom and son/daughter kind of thing. it's a bonding time and thing the kids can do with mom that is special. or find a few who are already into the sport and start a club or have the women be instructors. some women just feel more comfortable with and learning from other women. some of the points that were made are valid, others are kind of stupid and marginally insulting. but i really do love kittens -
send a PM to Brunsie, he is the other Pro-staffer here in Calgary. he has the 11 ft 6wt spey, and a couple of the wind warrior stillwater rods. probably one of those is a 6wt. i have the midge, 11 ft 3/4 wt trout spey and the wind warrior 8wt. the autorized dealers in calgary are Fish Tales (site sponsor), the fishing hole and Wholesale Sports and army&navy. WS has the Amundson rods in 2 places, last time i was in there. there will be a small rack with the combos and then the rest will be 2nd row, far right - away from the counter. ask for tyler if he is there. i know they had a few of the spey rods but i think they may have had a stillwater. if one of the dealers doesnt have one, ask Brunsie to try his out and then ask one of the dealers to order them in. Fish Tales is probably your best bet because you dont have to go through a buying desk that puts in orders a few times a year. if you have any specific questions you can pm me, brunsie, bloom and jack hope that helps

slightly off topic but... being in travel insurance, i thought i would pass on that if you have travel insurance and take a trip specifcally to have a surgery, any expenses caused by the surgery or anything related to surgery or a complication arising from the surgery would not be covered under your insurance policy. that would include additional medical expenses and new flights from India back to Canada in the event you have to stay longer for recovery. just thought i would throw that out there. having been a travel agent as well. the rough cost of a one-way economy class airline ticket to vancouver is approximately 2900.00. that's a full fare nonrestricted ticket.

i much prefer the 2 stroke dirt bike going up and down the stream 50x then stalling in a deep spot, then waiting for your buddys to come along and help you push and drag it out. why bother with using a car wash at all??? you could just use the boat launch at graves bridge. -
not sure why the price difference, but i've done both the guided drift and the guided jet boat thing. both are cool, just depeneds on what experience you want to have

guess the next question is, has anyone found one downstream of carsland weir???
