  5. yea the big fish in teh bow seem too stop in teh mid 20s i do find a few exceptions lastyear with halfdozen over 26 lastyear.. best time for me too get em seems too be in april and may before she gets too murkey and again in september.......... hard too find a big bow tho usually somewere along teh banks after runoff! hard sightfishing em tho with shaky hands! i did a few float a year or two ago were we tossed large flies in teh 6-8inch range in august and moved a goofy amount of large trout didnt get many takers btu they were interested! every year the fishing seems too eb on the up and up tho and hopefully down teh road we will see more fish over 26 and even 30......... might take a decade or more tho.. specially with the new water treatment plant being put in.. if it is going too work like they say it will with minimal nutrients being pumped(most ebing trucked out) in and jsut warm water tehre will be even more open water and more open water means better wintering habitat for alot mroe fish too grow faster through teh winter!
  6. bust em off.. the ones ive bin tying adn few pics ove posted take me 15 minutes ro so tops........... part of fishin dude! im not using tubes ive bin tying on waddington shanks
  7. yea like most people spoke about the old ones in some speypages threads.. it is a nice blank but the handle design sucks... will be cool too read what has changed form teh loop blanks
  8. those xdp's are nice but hte bad thing is they pulled operations from north america so too ge tone fixed would mean sneding it back too teh UK wich would take a hella long time!
  9. i useto suscribe too trout and salmon its a dope magazine.. has a ton of gear for sale in it but some awsome articles.. u should be able too pick it up at a magazine shop no problem.... useto hit up one downtown by td square all the time when i shoulda bin in school..... they gots tons of flyfishing magazines!
  10. for leaders i use too use a 4' 3' 2' method...... usually 4'15lb 3'10lb 2'8lb for streamers jsut run 2 feet of 15lb
  11. brady that is classid dude..... will laugh at that one forever... happy too see u were hurt serious !
  12. great idea ron i for one hate wovel flies! so much time... freakin frustrating too! but here is mine "woven foam stone" tail legs and antenna- brown rubber legs body- woven tan foam thorax-sheet foam tan wing- barred tan cdc indicator- orange foam brown sharpie on teh back
  13. carl feb 7th is the due date meng u got tons of time!
  14. yup todd has some dope stuff grabbed over a dozen plumes! couldnt resist!
  15. french creek and dube nailed it! its all in teh speed in wich u pull the knot off of whatever you are using too get a nice nail knot!
  16. typically in these color combos steelhead all the way! i ahve bin tying some trout truders aswell... typical streamer patterns would be woolybuggers, double bunnies, bow buggers, decievers clousers etc... its all about imitating the baitfish and otehr food items teh trout see most regularly that workse for me...... i have bin on a intruder style streamer kick tho and yes they do work for trout! but im tying them in trouty colors instead.... hope that makes sence dude!
  17. sweet dude! minus the car topper! was a great day for fishin too!
  18. i think it is a cool idea but im in no rush too pick one up
  19. nice flies chris! hydro... dotn both i just use ostrich...
  20. that is cool!
  21. thanks gordy.. sad too hear ... i feel everyone who has bin contributing has given there own opinion on what brand or brands they own and like too fish.... only question i have is why dont you and others who believe and love other products speak up and recommend them two rather than not recommend anything too new speycasters? it wont hurt my feelings.. we all find products we respect and trust through use... so speak up and give your 2 cents
  22. clacka all the way have rowed half dozen of em close too a dozen hydes a few home made and wood boats and some other brands and i would take clacka hands down.. couter balanced oars can be bought for any boat now and seats rod holders extra storage etc can be put into a clacka too.. hydes do have more storage but with mega storage and gear come more weight and a pain in teh a** too row.. specially on teh few days the wind kicks up
  23. the fli are nice little rods......... if it were my i would do it up with a multi or beulah stick but u cant nock any sage rod.. specially when they are on sale
  24. i dotn think it will affect much.. i for one love supporting teh small guy and stop by a few of my favorite shops because i like the people tehre.. i do however swing by wholesale now and again too only because i have frends working there and find myself b.s'ing more than anything else.. with mike mailey workin at southbow i will shop there from time too time now and bass pro dont seem like much of a "go to" shop for me.. i think wholesale bass pro russels fishing whole etc. cator too mroe of teh just getting into flyfishing crowd who are intimidated by the small shop idea that itts only were the dedicated shop wich is totally b.s. but in teh end i think most shops who have loyal customers will continue too get them and teh ones who treat teh customers with respect and have a good rep will continue too grow
