  1. Spent quite a few hours with Davie and exchanged a bunch of tips and tricks. What a complete gentleman he is and very free with his knowledge. He was kind enough to give me a few custom flies of his on a sighed card that I will treasure.

Here’s some quick snaps of a small part of the show. Davie McPhail an extraordinary tier who's videos online are a treat. Was great joy to meet and chat with him. Norm Norlander, designer of the Nor-Vice the Norvise wonderful guy and free with his knowledge.

  7. They are a nice reel, I have one that is the 4/5/6 weight and love it. Had a big one but sold it, anotehr one I really like better is the Loop Classic. The other option is to look for a classic Hardy reel, a wide perfect for instance.
  8. Yep be tying at teh FF calgary booth also, com by and say HI
  9. Tied with wool in the past, its great for dubbed bodies and sheds water well. Never tried it for a wing material like you would use snowshoe hare foot for but I imagine you could just pull it out a few times to align the fibers and tie a clump in for a wing. I do love snowshoe for wing material and makes nice emergers also.
  10. As a young boy in Ontario we made many a meal of crayfish.

  16. All of the South stores are a bit of a haul for me, I don't get down there as much as I would like to, I also miss not having a store in the NW but such is life. The very best to the guys at Southbow, they always treated me like gold.

  19. ------------------------ It's a good time to pick up that book. You can still find it for a modest price condiderting its age (under $50). I notice that the odd pristine first edition copy are starting to go for over $200. Couple of years ago I found two signed editions for a very modest cost.
