I want to get out in the back yard before the season starts with a couple of my fly rods and practice a bit of casting to a paper plate or targets of some kind. Especially after the winter doldrums, grass casting is a nice way to get the feel back for accuracy. There's a certain spot on "Frenchmans Creek" that housed a Big Brown. One cast to a tiny target tented by logs is usually all you get. Sskwala, you know the spot.
Just curious, for me, Fly Fishing is a continuous learning experience. Fishing flies in different ways, research more, trying new patterns to match hatches etc. Anything you want to change up for the upcoming season?
The "Guest" was a previous admin. He runs another site now and uses the blog to drive traffic. Think I found the back door and closed it. Took a bit of research and time, bear with me.
A good quality lamp helps also check your batteries they need to be top of the charge. I have a single lamp single bulb, but like my 21 light UV light better as it seems to cure faster. I have gone over to Solarez and do like it a lot. The thin and the thick. Certainly less tacky than other brands, but even with the thick I sometimes add thin over.
Just a note: the lights are UV. and can damage skin and eye cells in a way that raises cancer risk. I've taken to slipping a pair of sunglasses on when curing.

The volume of redirection posts to a certain Bloghas been huge. I will take steps to limit it as its getting to be like spam. See my rules post in Blog.
"Fly Fishing only" would also go a long way plus more signs about rules to the general public. Poaching is a problem and more public education on subjects like the no bait rule is important. it would educate the general nonfishing public and get more eyes on the water.
I'm short on extended body flies, (those darn large Browns and Cutties) time to start topping off my and my buddies fly box. This is a new one. I've been looking at Stoneflies that hatch on smaller streams and creeks that they are a bit smaller than say the bow river. Wanted a few that are in the #18 size with foam bodies and deer hair to float but ride low in the meniscus of the surface.
