  1. A tourist has been visiting Cuba for a week.He is leaving the next day and he still hasn't tried the food. He goes to a restaurant and sits down to order and then sees what the man next to him has.It looks very tasty. The waiter comes to take his order and the tourist tells him he wants what the other man beside him is having. The waiter says there is no more left. The tourist then asks him what the meal is and the waiter replies that it is the testicles from the bull that lost the bullfight earlier that morning. He tells the tourist that if he comes back tomorrow he'll save this meal for him. The tourist thinks, "What the heck, it'll be my last day here," so he comes back the next day and the waiter has his food prepared for him when he comes. The man eats the meal and thinks it is delicious. But he is confused about one thing. He calls the waiter over and asks him why his meal looked smaller than the meal the other man had the day before. The waiter replies, "Oh, sorry sir, sometimes the bull wins."
  2. Is it not enough that you get to take home a share of the perch caught?
  3. I will second the recommendation for Southbow, they also have demo rods you can sign out for a day or two on the river to see how they fish.
  4. Perhaps if you replaced "Sage" with "TFO".
  5. Did he send a pdf specifically about the trip? I know when I emailed him about it he said you could choose from any of the trips he offers.
  6. http://www.steelheadheaven.com/seasons.htm I'm guessing this is what you're looking for.
  7. The U of C accepts them, I think it's through the campus food bank, they sell them cheap and the funds go to the food bank.

  9. I think part of the problem is the catch and kill crowd up there. At the one pool alone you'll see people come down almost every day, catch their limit, go home and come back for a second limit of whitefish. I haven't fished there in a few years, but it was going downhill every year when I used to go there.
  10. Does anyone on here have any recommendations for a new float tube? I was looking at the Dave Scadden Freestyle, but they're no longer produced or available. I'm still trying to find one, but does anyone have any other recommendations? I'm looking for something lightweight yet of decent size, and potentially something that's a cross between a float tube and a pontoon, good for both hike ins, yet possibly river-worthy as well. If not just a good float tube for stillwaters. Thanks
  11. Yeah all through the winter I've done great there, haven't fished it in a few years, but it's usually really good.
  12. If you want whites in the NW go up to the train bridge run about 1km downstream of bowness park. Between the train bridge and pedestrian bridge there should be tons of them. The favourite fly is a whitefish killer, take a size 8-14 hook, make an orange body out of floss or chenille, then palmer brown hackle around it. There's tons of them up there.
  13. It might be a bit early still, but it could be that this time of year the larger rainbows are using up a lot of energy preparing to spawn, therefore have less fight in them. The smaller fish aren't using any energy to prepare, therefore have a lot more energy to use.
  14. Perhaps increased levels of manmade CO2 in the atmosphere is causing exothermic reactions in your computer, causing it to overheat and malfunction.
  15. Caught it in Labrador with Minipi camps - tough fishing but some very large fish.
  16. You think that's bad, have a look at what else they want to release:
  17. One of my favourites has to be the road signs in BC "50 km/h when children on highway"
  18. Anyone know if any stores other than the fishin hole generally have boxing day sales? Looking to maybe pick some stuff up tomorrow.
  19. Just wondering if anyone here has anyone recommendations for a new company to get a cell phone with. I'm currently with Rogers and am happy with them, but they don't cover a lot of areas I fish. Has anyone gotten any coverage along the forestry trunk road in the south, or anywhere in the forestry west of Highway 22 North of Calgary?
  20. I wouldn't be so sure about muskrats being vegetarians. Years ago I was fishing a lake, and we had a fish that died when we caught it, but was too small to eat, so my grandfather cut it up and left it in pieces on a rock. About 1/2 hour later we saw a muskrat eating the pieces of fish.
  21. Just wanted to say thanks again for your help in the contest! I'm in 9th place at the moment, which makes it promising that I'll be in the top 20 by the end, so if you could please keep the votes coming it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!
  22. Thanks a bunch, really appreciate the help!
  23. Just wanted to pass on my thanks to everyone here, due to your support I've managed to remain in the top 4 over the past through days! Thanks again, and if you could please keep those coming. http://www.wfn.tv/joecontest/view.php?entry=287
