  1. I contacted Kelsey about the trip, the trip is for two anglers unless you choose the quad-in trip, in which case it is only for one person, unless you have your own quad for another person.
  2. The U of C accepts them, I think it's through the campus food bank, they sell them cheap and the funds go to the food bank.
  3. Sorry if this has already been posted, but I recently received an email regarding this year's TUC BRC tackle swap. Here's what was sent to me: Saturday March 27th 10 am-12pm South Calgary Community Association 3130 – 16 St. SW *** Garage Sale Format *** call now to reserve your own sale table $20 each - limited numbers available Table Setup 9-10 AM Sale 10 AM - 12 PM Cleanup 12- 1 PM Sell your own used fishing gear or your boat: · $20 table charge, some restrictions apply · You sell, you get the best deal possible · NO Consignment charge To book your own table, or for sale information, contact: Craig Robillard (403) 251-4803 h (403) 968-8788 c craiglr@gmail.com
  4. I think part of the problem is the catch and kill crowd up there. At the one pool alone you'll see people come down almost every day, catch their limit, go home and come back for a second limit of whitefish. I haven't fished there in a few years, but it was going downhill every year when I used to go there.
  5. Does anyone on here have any recommendations for a new float tube? I was looking at the Dave Scadden Freestyle, but they're no longer produced or available. I'm still trying to find one, but does anyone have any other recommendations? I'm looking for something lightweight yet of decent size, and potentially something that's a cross between a float tube and a pontoon, good for both hike ins, yet possibly river-worthy as well. If not just a good float tube for stillwaters. Thanks
  6. Yeah all through the winter I've done great there, haven't fished it in a few years, but it's usually really good.
  7. If you want whites in the NW go up to the train bridge run about 1km downstream of bowness park. Between the train bridge and pedestrian bridge there should be tons of them. The favourite fly is a whitefish killer, take a size 8-14 hook, make an orange body out of floss or chenille, then palmer brown hackle around it. There's tons of them up there.
  8. It might be a bit early still, but it could be that this time of year the larger rainbows are using up a lot of energy preparing to spawn, therefore have less fight in them. The smaller fish aren't using any energy to prepare, therefore have a lot more energy to use.
  9. Perhaps increased levels of manmade CO2 in the atmosphere is causing exothermic reactions in your computer, causing it to overheat and malfunction.
  10. Caught it in Labrador with Minipi camps - tough fishing but some very large fish.
  11. You think that's bad, have a look at what else they want to release:
  12. One of my favourites has to be the road signs in BC "50 km/h when children on highway"
  13. Anyone know if any stores other than the fishin hole generally have boxing day sales? Looking to maybe pick some stuff up tomorrow.
  14. Just wondering if anyone here has anyone recommendations for a new company to get a cell phone with. I'm currently with Rogers and am happy with them, but they don't cover a lot of areas I fish. Has anyone gotten any coverage along the forestry trunk road in the south, or anywhere in the forestry west of Highway 22 North of Calgary?
  15. If you're looking for something nice and light, check out the White River Classsic from Bass Pro Shops, the small model only weighs 2.2 ounces, quite a nice little reel.
  16. I wouldn't be so sure about muskrats being vegetarians. Years ago I was fishing a lake, and we had a fish that died when we caught it, but was too small to eat, so my grandfather cut it up and left it in pieces on a rock. About 1/2 hour later we saw a muskrat eating the pieces of fish.
  17. I recently purchased a Sage 3200 Click Series reel for my 3 wt and am very happy with it. It only weighs 3.125 ounces and has a large arbour design. They're on sale at www.redtruckflyfishing.com
  18. Just wanted to say thanks again for your help in the contest! I'm in 9th place at the moment, which makes it promising that I'll be in the top 20 by the end, so if you could please keep the votes coming it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!
  19. Just wanted to pass on my thanks to everyone here, due to your support I've managed to remain in the top 4 over the past through days! Thanks again, and if you could please keep those coming. http://www.wfn.tv/joecontest/view.php?entry=287
  20. I only had to see Lethbridge Herald and that it was posted by Dryfly to realize something was up lmao
