  1. Just search the fishing related posts, using key words.Loads of good info
  2. I have been lucky at draws over the years. Won a leather recliner and ottoman, dress watch, Stamps season tickets for a year, a trip for 2 to Carribean, sp?, espresso cappacino machine, and $8600. in a 50/50 draw. I bought my first fly gear with the latter amongst other things. As silvers 86 said, you don't win if you don't enter. Let us know what you decide to spend it on. Paul
  3. As you can tell, we are all very proud of what the Bow has to offer. I hope she gives you memories to last a lifetime.
  4. So let me get this straight, If you were going out for Brookies you may use buggers in black and olive, or is that just the rumor? Lol
  5. Okay, I had to borrow your Jack Daniels fishing story from your FB page. Thx
  6. I took a look at some of his streamers. Going to tie a few Dungeons and Peanuts, as well as Boobies. All great looking flies, now to see how they turn out as I am just beginning.
  7. All the best for your 65th
  8. My biggest fish are on streamers, but yes patience, and keep at it. Some days I just stay on streamers all day. Although I usually use 8 lb leader, so a little more feedback from FFC folk on what they go with would be nice leader wise. Also i usually go with about 4 to 5 feet. Love it.
  9. Thanks Guys, it was very interesting. Tenkara seems to be a cool way to fish. Jim gave me some very useful tips, as I just started to tie. Boy can he ever tie nice stuff, and makes it look so easy. And nice shop, by the way. PL
  10. Loomis would be a great option, if allowed.
  11. You can always slow down. I don't go more than 8 to 10 km/hr over, and thats usually on the hwy, sometimes in the city. Cops and photo radar usually leave you alone at that pace.I trust my driving and nobody else. Otherwise Viper is pretty good. Good Luck
  12. When I used to spin all I bought was shimano, and they are still good for the friends and family I take out that don't fly.Decent of Orvis to allow that. 50 Rods, AMAZING, but if I recall, you also collect Bamboo, don't you.
  13. You must be getting yours in the USA
  14. Congrats, apparel is nice, or sell it for $800. and party. Lol
  15. I noticed, just chuckled to myself.
  16. My life was saved in a ford 1 ton 4x4 when I was smoked by a semi at 90 km/hour. I currently own a 1/2 ton lariat 4x4 and still like women, PL
  17. Congrats to the athletes of the world, and a big tip of the hat to the Canuck Athletes. Way to go Mens and Womens Hockey. Another great olympics. Now back to hockey without the NHLers.
  18. Don't eat the fish out of eagle.
  19. Not really, Other lakes are prob 1 1/2 at least except Clear. about 1 hr south
  20. Monster Pike, White Fish, and I have been told some Walleye. I have released several 15 to 20 lb Pike. Do the auger and take a hibachi and have fun. I'd say it is about 1 1/2 hours to 2.
  21. If it is too cold for the line and guides of the rod, (ice), maybe bring the auger and go to Badger.
  22. Howdy, to you fishers who can cook, I want to play with some bone in center cut beef shanks. As much as the slow cookers and dutch ovens are great, I want to play with the BBQ and some smoke. Being the shank I would think it will need breaking the tissue down with a beef stock boil for a while, with the veggies and herbs, then I thought of indirect heat low and long on the BBQ with maybe a bit of smoke. Any recipe or feedback is welcome. Thx
