    Pothole Browns

nice, that lake always offers a treat than just the usual rainbow
  2. you got that right, especially on that river! Awesome pics thanks for sharing
  3. I love that creek and every water near it. Spend every possible hour of my life out there. I remember getting my first brown and bull on the same day on dries there many moons ago. Still some big fish in there too. Nice colors. thanks for posting!
  4. Frank, tell your buddy great job. i can't get over the quality of the fricken HD cameras!!! Unreal. Awesome camera work and even better editing.
  5. That's an awesome fish Wolfie. I have fished that same run myself and by golly is it ever awesome. I love that whole area down there, best in Alberta.

    Hahaha

It's been shitty for the most part for me too... for every 3/4 not so good days you have one good one. I've been doing some exploring and found some equal and better fishing in other systems in the area. I wonder if the big fish are on the decline or what's going on.
  7. Absolutely. I've had some days that did me in alright, made me want to cry. I have also had days where I use it to compare all other days of cutthroat trout fishing,
  8. Very well said Rick. 100% with you there. Flyfishfairwx, you need to cool down man. *hit/poaching/illegal stuff always has and always will happen. You are acting as if this is the only incident in Alberta. Read what other guys are saying... I dig where your comin' from here but chill the fugg out man.
  9. You were out on a VERY slow day then. It's rare you don't see a truck every 400/500 yards... in the known areas anyway. I too go down some nasty trails but it's worth it. Good story.
  10. X2 on the St. Croix's, very impressed with mine thus far (3 years), running a legend elite, legend ultra, and two avids. A Sage ZXL is on my list, but I am also looking at Loop as well as Orvis.

    Hahaha

What a retard, that guy should be shot. If he's 4x4ing with booze in him, well thats even worse. That pool can be productive but I can see that not happening now.
  12. what the hell is it? kind of looks like a cloud, but, also like a big squid thing. just a note, this is right in the middle of Loch Ness.
  13. That's neat! Ospreys have always fascinated me. ive never seen a smaller bird on one's back, though. everytime i have seen an osprey engage in a fight with other birds, it has been with ravens, crows, bald eagles, and the coolest one ive seen, a blue heron. thats right, a mid-air fight between a great blue heron and an osprey. everytime ive seen multiple birds or a bigger bird go after an osprey it executed an evasive manuevere like you said. i will ask my bird buddy if he knows of this and let you know.
  14. Well, first off, don't get a bad taste in your mouth for St. Croix's. They are excellent rods and you probably just got one that was banged up in the store or something, because that is almost unheard of, a rod breaking right out of the tube within 5 casts. But onto the topic at hand, for me it is a toss-up. Some stores are good with that kind of stuff, you were lucky to have purchased it at a store with a non-ignorant manager. I only take my business to a few stores now after bad experiences with others. In the grand scheme of things, the store is trying to make money obviously. They do everything in their power to keep that money. It probably hurt them to offer your money back, but that is service. Because of that reason you should continue to shop there. Some stores, if something breaks, they say, tough luck, it's up to you and the manufacturer. I know how bad that can be dealing with a manufacturer from the midwest. You wait a week on each end for shipping then a week while it's in the factory. I sent a certain rod in two years ago. It took 8 business days for them to "receive" it. They then took a week to asses the rod, and then send the broken rod BACK to me without giving me any notificationi of their decision. Simply a waste of time and utter ignorance. Anyway, for the most part, to answer your question, I think a store is on your side.
  15. Absolutely. That is a good list to go by.. I also just love being out there. Nothing like watching a bald eagle or osprey come in at 100 miles per hour and hammering a trout.
  16. My handle is the name of the road that leads me to paradise.
  17. Nothing compared to some on here but I have found nets on the Livingstone, a few old broken flyrods, and I hooked and landed a fly box one time with some nymphs on the Bow.

    Browns

Excellent. Amazing how that little creek can output such pretty browns. Great area out there too, not just that one.
  19. Just wondered if it was indeed open for fishing. Might have to try it out one of these times as I too have seen brookies in it but never anyone fishing.
  20. I've always wondered this myself. Because of the silt, though, the visibility isn't very good. What are the rules regarding fishing it?

    Solved

LOL! It certainly does look more like a rainbow than a cutthroat but the spots throughout its body, right up to the jaw, kind of indicate to me that it`s a cuttbow,
