  1. Red Lake Area, about 40 minutes north west by float plane
  2. Well another summer guiding in Ontario has come and gone. Many great fish were caught once again this year. Although no boat records, I did manage to set 2 personnal bests this year with a 41" pike on the fly rod (no pics sorry) and a 30" walleye although not on the fly rod, were brought to the boat. There wont be many fish pictures this year as to many of them seem to violate the new forum rules on how to hold fish. Without further ado I now introduce my annual summer photo spectacular............. Day 1 - very first thing to do is get 1 boat in the water to go fishing Day 2 - casting the first lures the fish have seen in 8 months Round 2 will be up shortly
  3. 41" northern on the fly rod, unfortunately no pics... kind of hard as I was by myself and I didn't have the camera with me. Biggest fish on the fly rod to date though.
  4. Anywhere in town, the only private property is by The country club golf course. If you want to try for goldeye we usually go down to Pavan Park in the far north end of town.
  5. The more people golfing, the less to compete with on the river..... GO GOLFING IN SUNDRE !!!!!!! I hear its great!!!!!!
  6. As few false casts as possible, the less chance you have to get it tangled into a huge ball of shmag
  7. Hey Al, couldn't find you on saturday before we left and weren't sure which site was yours. I will drop the sheets off at your place tomorrow.
  8. We had a decent day as well down in the northwest corner, that was untill the wind came up and we moved, fishing turned right off for us after that.
  9. Well I am going tomorrow (saturday) but just discovered my printer is out of ink..........
  10. WOW.....calm
  11. Its possible I will be there 1 of the 2 days.... To many other things going on this weekend as well to be able to nail down which day at this point in time though. Fishing has been great out there the last 2 sundays.
  12. Shore fishing has been good the last 2 sundays...... fishing has been boderline amazing actually.
  13. What they also dont tell you is the decaying forests due to pine beetle infestation is a natural thing. Although it is now on somewhat of a larger scale aparantley due to global warming.
  14. They are doing nothing but looking for an easy way out. The biggest source of pollutants in our air is from burning fossil fuels. And untill that either stops or we have the technology for it to be a lot cleaner, Anything else that is done will have minimal benefit.
  15. Alright I take it back, I confirmed it for myself today. This is very interesting indeed. Makes me wonder though why the owners decided on now to sell. Could it be becasue some real competition is finally coming to town, so they figured to get out now?
  16. I call bull on this untill anyone can come up with any kind of proof that isnt just rumours.
  17. When I was in Penticton I saw one while sitting on the grass, they are quit possibly the coolest insect I have ever seen.
  18. I dissagree, I dont think your going to catch a damn thing on them.... you may as well just send them to me right now
  19. I have another question to go along with this one as well. To all of the guys that say they have broken rods (manufacturers defect or not), are you proud that you have? I mean is it actually something to brag about?
  20. I have never broken a fly rod either. I honestly have no idea how all you guys say you have broken so many rods and insist they are defective..... unless of course they were likely TFO then I am sure they were
  21. here kitty kitty kitty!!!!!!!!
  22. HEY!!!!! Thanks for ruining my secret spot!!!! Now everyone is going to be there fishing it!!!!!
  23. I live in Lethbridge and will sepcifically be making trips to buy stuff up there. Lately they never seem to have anything that I need down here at the only game in town. Mind you though my sister was going to the nearest Cabelas in the states this weekend I wanted her to pick up a whole wack of Pike and Walleye stuff for me and Cabelas had absolutly nothing of what I want, neither does Wholesale, Russels, or Fishing Hole (and these are well known brand name lures), so I guess we'll see just how good this new store is. By the looks of it from the highway though, it should be pretty sweet.
  24. Here we go with the whole secret spot debate again. Who cares if some group is planning a big group trip down south, I can guarantee you the Bow, Crow, Castle, Oldman, Livingston, Carbondale etc are no "Secret Spots" these are all very well known rivers and can be found by anyone with a map and enough sense on how to read it. Your secret is 99% likely to be someone elses as well. Sure there are some small creeks and there or spots on some larger rivers where access is a little more difficult, but thats why they see less traffic. Like I said, the rivers that have been mentioned in this thread are no secrets, including the Red deer
  25. I just saw on the advertisement at the top of the screen, that Fly Fishing film tour is coming to Lethbridge April 22nd. But when i click on the add it doesnt say any info on there about a Lethbridge Showing. Anyone have any info on this?
