  1. Isnt that what I was saying? the airators have done nothing to improve the size of fish in Police. So would changing the stocking as well as the regs not be more effective to creating better fishing opertunities in Alberta? That seems to be what your saying as well, if it isnt then please go more in depth with your post.
  2. Police has Airators that were installed I believe 5 or 6 years ago now to help reduce winterkil. I have not noticed any change in the size of fish from before they were installed till now. I think a better way to improve the quality of a fishery is to decrease stocking rates, decrease limits and create more delayed harvest fisheries.
  3. I am posting this question for Kyle who for some reason cant post messages on here right now? Anyway.... Im wondering if anyone can shed some light on this problem Im having with windows movie maker... I have 2 cameras(hp, canon) and the video from one of the cameras(hp) can be uploaded to windows movie maker, but the other camera(canon powershot) cannot upload video files to windows movie maker. The hp has the name of the files as IM and then six numbers (such as IM000337) and the canon has the files saved as MVI and then 4 numbers (such as MVI_0375), not sure if this last piece of info I gave you will make any difference. Also the hp I can watch the videos in windows media player, but the canon wont let me play them in windows media player(intervideo winDVD runs the canon movies fine) I honestly dont have the slightest idea what I could do to get it to work, so aso any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for any info!
  4. Just because a lake is aerated doesnt mean that it will produce bigger fish. Generally lakes that are aerated are the ones that are prone to winder kill. This happens when summer weed growth dies and the decaying matter uses up the oxygen in the water. Not every body of water is prone to winter kill, usually the more shallow weedy ones. I believe the length of the winter as well as how much snow cover is on the ice can effect this as well. Someone else can likely shed more light on this though
  5. I ended up getting eliminated in the 3rd round. It was fun, I would be down for it again. I think I was ap against Lonefisher in that one..... and I still did'nt win even trying to bribe people.
  6. My understanding of the Alberta system is that the majority of the money goes into general revenue and very little goes back to the resource
  7. I call BS on that 2 headed pike. You can clearly tell in the pic that the gill has been pulled open and another pike shoved up inside the gill opening.
  8. Almost makes it worth driving the extra 20 minutes over the border and fishing the Michelle in no wind at all. But then I just remember that I would be giving my money to BC
  9. Bring your warm sleeping bag... it was snowing up in them there hills this weekend.
  10. If this proposal does pass I think that any reg changes will need everyones help to be enforced. Judging from last weekend out there I dont see the bait crowd just giving up on this lake. I think the RAP line will be getting lots of calls coming frome there.
  11. 10 airmiles for me... and I dont even collect them so technically I didn't win a damn thing.
  12. I got that one today as well, only it was with this picture....... HAHA!!!!!!
  13. That one was 44". It was the first of 3 for me for the summer. The Mayfly was well over an inch long, it probably was a Hex, there is no shortage of them out there. I thought they were more tan and brown colored like this though. All signs are pointing to yes at the moment. I was on the fence about going back next year due to the new management that was there this year, but I got an email last night from the old managers saying that they would be back next year. Between the money and the fishing, its really not a hard choice.
  14. One of my biggest of the summer Identification anyone? Thats it till next time, I will post more in a few weeks. In the mean time, feel free to post some constructive criticism, feedback is always welcome!!
  15. Alright, so here is the first installment of summer photos. Most are from a combination of Ontario and B.C. Some are fishing related, some arent. Enjoy... part 2 will be up in a few weeks. A foggy and cold day at the beginning of the season. One of the guides first fly rod caught pike measuring 39" Did'nt see many days this calm this year Our hot tub!!!! Dont laugh, it works really good.
  16. I have been running Firefox for close to 2 years now. Its definatly a better program
  17. No dont look yet...... I am in the process of getting them all uploaded as I type. Should be up in the next few days.
  18. Nice Nice... was this with the new camera? I was sure I had seen turkeys in there before as well..... But I just caught them out of the corner of my eye as I drove by and when I actually realized what they were, I was out of sight of them. Beautifull pics as usuall... I may head out there sunday if nothing else is going on. I have had some outstanding days there right around now during the last 2 years.
  19. BAH!! Thast still long range..... its going to be sunny and beautiful all weekend, I can feel it.
  20. Does the clicker still move up and down when you press on it? if not then its possible that the sring underneath is either broken or worn out. Unscrew it and check that to. If not then the clicker could be worn down. Either way Pfleuger should be able to get you replacement parts.
  21. I had an amazing day... I was fishing pretty much all the little tribs and I think I had 7 fish in 7 casts at one point. I also managed to get 3 fish in the Castle on the way home in about an hour. One of them on a sz 18 BWO (the only fish I saw rise all day) on a hares ear and another on a Wooly Bugger. I was trying a bit of everything. I also had a bully I would estimate at probably around 35" follow chase one of my cutties around when I got him on the bugger. All In all a really good day.
  22. The Calgary Wholesale is not allowed to carry Orvis at all as there is a full line dealer in Calgary already, becasue of this they cant put Orvis product into the catalogue either. This is a big reason as to why Wholesale has dropepd the Orvis line... although there are many other reasons as well.
  23. BAH!!! it was great up there today. A little chilly first thing in the morning and a little snow from time to time, but the water was clear, low and the fish were on.
  24. I would try to fit you in either a Large short first of all then a large. According to there fit chart, size medium should fit me in the Pro guides, but when I tried them on, they really pulled in the crotch. The medium long size was better but still pulled a bit. Waders that dont fit right arent much good as it creates premature wear on the seams. I ended up having to get them warrantied just before a year was up because the seems were wearing right through on the inside of my legs down by the calves. But I dont think that was a fit issue. If your planning on maknig a purchase from the internet, I would say to go try a pair on first to get the right sizing down, and if the size that should fit you doesnt feel right, dont get them. I am now using Cloudeveils and they fit me like they were custom made for me.
