  1. HAHAHA, oh man!!! I think I just got burned, I knew posting that would come back to bite me in the ass one day........ DBT 2 - Wes 0
  2. Not nearly enough women Jeffro, not even nearly enough!!
  3. yeah that videos hilarious, I am pretty sure it was posted on here already though
  4. I love my Lamson, I would buy one again in a heartbeat. I think I need to send it back to them for a little maintenance though, I think one time I got some sand in it somewhere so tok the spool off and dunked it in water. Well the sand got out, but now my drag is sticky on startup. It wasnt a smart move on my behalf, but I learned my lesson
  5. Other then T.U. I think pretty much the only other related club in town is Fish and Game. It sounds like a good plan
  6. I think the threads on the screw that screws into the bottom of the camera are all pretty universal. The quick release bracket from the tripod is usually specific to either that tripod of at least the brand of tripod. I bought mine at London Drugs.
  7. Pfff, warranty or no warranty, at $100 bucks you cant afford not to!!!
  8. 5000 + should be Golden Trout
  9. It just so happens that I do.... one of which is a Partagas.... I cant recall what the other one is.
  10. BAH!!!!! I am willing to bet it wont be colder then -10, but I doubt it will as warm as +10 either.... besides, add another layer under those waders and wear some golves and a touque! I have got a nice big cigar lined up for the day already.
  11. Hey I dont want to pretend about anything..... you shoud'nt mess with the gods..... especially the fish gods. All I am saying is if it just so happens that you make it for saturday, I am there. In fact it would be a great beginning to my X-mas holidays.
  12. Clive? I believe that I had the date wrong last year based on some type of calendar technicality. So is the solstice on the Friday or Saturday this year? It better be saturday casue then I'M IN!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Hmmm, the pic of me holding the bully that the Dr. posted was also caught in that pool... I love that river.
  14. COuntry Pleasures is the only full line dealer in Calgary. But depending on what your looking for, Wholesale sports in Lethbridge also carries it, as well as a shop in Banff (not sure the name though) as well as a shop in Fernie. (not sure the name of that one either)
  15. I love the blurred movement in the hand, real matrix style!!
  16. I will vouge for the Cloudveils. Out of the box they fit me better then any other brand wader I have so far tried. Although they do now have a hole in the knee from when I took a tumble. Its odd though because there is onyl a light scuff on the outside fabric and no tears at all, but thats where it's leaking, I guewss it is my fault though. I sent back 2 pairs of Orvis Pro Guide 2's prior to the Cloudveils. My dad is using a pair of there entry level Clearwater Endura waders, which have a leak on the inside of the leg right along a wear line where the seam tape on the inside is. These waders have been used maybe 6 times and have leaks from wear already, not to happy with that. I have also tried the Bare Blackwaters and didnt have a problem with them for 3 seasons. I would say dollar for dollar the Bares treated me the best, the Cloudveils have been by far the best fitting..... and the Orvis's have given me the most trouble.
  17. No offense at all.... you wish your trouser trout was actually that big.
  18. 4x is by far the one I use the most, But I also have a spool of 3x on hand for targetting bigger fish as well as some 5 x fluoro for the picky ones.
  19. True, if your willing to wait a month and a half...... I admit that its frustrating when you go to your local stomping ground and they dont have what you need. Things like waders, boots and rods I can understand as it is the end of the season. But when it comes to things like said Gink and leaders and tippet material, I dont think there is any excuse for stuff like that. Shops should know how much they sold of a particular item a previous year and greatly increase the number of that product if they were sold out of it for over half the season. But I guess in the end, your the customer and its your dollar that talks. If the store doesnt have somethign you want, they are loosing money, it hurts them as well.
  20. I like this pic, when was it? the leaves say summer, but yet the snow in the top left corner leads me to believe very late summer. or just before May long?
  21. On a different topic but yet still related to your question, make sure that where you decide to fish is open. The Castle and Livingston rivers are now closed for the season and there are only a few portions open on the Oldman and Crow.
  22. Jim McLennan has a great show about reading water big and small. I highly reccommend if you ever get the chance to see it. I would really like a seminar on advancd casting techniques. I feel my personnal learning curve has kind of flat lined as far as casting goes, I need to fish with or be taught from someone who has a higher skill level that I can learn from. Specifically how to double haul. There are a few recuring problems that I have as well that I would really love to know how to stop.
  23. The hail was pretty insane, thats really the first time in my life that weather has actually scared me. I know they say never to hide under trees in a thunder storm but I decided thatI would rather chance getting struck by lightening then get beat by hail the size of golf balls. I still got wacked on the head a few times and had a few bruises on my arms as I was trying to cover my head to protect myself. Thankfully we pulled up to shore a few minutes before it started, there was a few boats that got caught in the middle of the lake in it though. The naked guys I posted as more of a conversation piece. We were guiding a group of guys that wanted to all fish together. It came up as a joke during the previous days lunch how funny it would be to have 2 guys naked fishing in the boat (there had been much alcohol consumed by the guests at this point), the next day there we were sitting out in the bay casting for pike when I look over my shoulder and see 2 guys naked.... and it was damn funny!!
