Bull Trout North Of Calgary?
Suntoucher replied to snakeman's topic in General Chat - Fly Fishing Related
Speaking of big bulls, the Smokey River drainage has got them plus no Calgary crowds either! And yes, that's north of Calgary. But there not open in the spring though. -
Landslide Lake/lake Of The Falls

Sounds so nice, would like to see some pics of those lakes especially Michelle lakes. There is the "alternative" but steeper route up Owen creek which is shorter. -
Bull Trout North Of Calgary?
Suntoucher replied to snakeman's topic in General Chat - Fly Fishing Related
The Clearwater can be rewarding once you find a nice pool or log jam. I've found the better Bull fishing in it's tribs but the big ones of size are in the main river itself. -

Where Is Everyone Fishing?
Suntoucher replied to trailhead's topic in General Chat - Fly Fishing Related
I'll be hitting up the Nordegg area streams for Sunday, Monday and maybe Tuesday as I try to avoid the weekend traffic out on the FTR. The weather forcast has inspired me to do one more pilgrimage out there, can't wait! -
The smaller brookies always seem to be more vibrant than the adult ones. I always take alot of pics of them because they are always so beautiful, no matter the size. Nice one there!

The Mystery Of Cripple Creek
Suntoucher replied to Smitty's topic in General Chat - Fly Fishing Related
I had the same thought there Smitty. I fished Cripple a week after it opened and got skunked. I thought it was probably because it was too early in the season. So I had a go at it 2 weeks ago and was surprised to find not many fish at all. I did catch a couple but from my memory of the creek, they used to be everywhere. -
I've witnessed first hand from my years living overseas to see what the Bush administrations effects are and they are not good. Thanks for sharing this info with us Christofficer! If everyone believed what Glen Beck or Bill O' Riley say on CNN and FOX we would be f*cked!

Dream Destination?
Suntoucher replied to OneMoreLastCast's topic in General Chat - Fly Fishing Related
Don't forget about the Himalayas, great trout streams out there. Indian Kashmir and Bhutan have got some good brown trout fishing. The British stocked their streams and lakes many years ago from tiny fry in clay pots via horseback. I spent almost a year up there as a guide and also backpacked around. Saw some wicked streams full of trout but I left the fly rod at home...it didn't fit in the backpack! 1. Himalayas 2. Central Alberta 3. Patagonia (Chile/Argentia) -
Glenbow, Are you just there for the fishing or doing some sight seeing too? I lived off and on in Australia for nearly 2 1/2 years now. Based my self mostly in Sydney but spent long periods of time in Darwin and Byron Bay too. Went to NZ during one of the last "visa runs", it's a lot like Canada. If you need any info about where to go and what to see, feel free to send me a PM. As well watchout with your gear in quarintine at customs. Aussie customs are just behind Canadian customs as to be a real pain in the ass. One time, when I came back from Burma they tried to take away my hiking boots because they had a tiny speck of dirt on them!?! Suntoucher

Highwood, It's normal for Lima to be overcast as it's probably monsoon plus it's winter there right now. If you got the time, head down to Chile(via Bolivia). Or you could fly but land travel is more exciting anyways. Chile has some wicked brown trout fishing. You would swear you were in Canada!
