  1. Great, thanks guys! I actually ran into a guy on the bow today from around the denver area and he had mentioned the frying pan as well. I will do some poking around in some of the local fly shops. Looking forward to wetting the line in some unchartered territory!
  2. Hi everyone I am going to be heading down to Denver next week on business and am hoping to get some fishing done while i was out there. I have done some research and have come up with such rivers as the South Platte, Williams Fork, and the Colorado. Does anyone have any experience with these rivers or have any other recomendations. Your help is greatly appreciated. Tight Lines
  3. Here is a link the the full video. It is the "see the take" video that was shot in Chile. Looks to me like they are fishing for rainbows and browns. It is a great video! http://isuckatflyfishing.com/videos.htm#
  4. I know there is a campground on the bow near carseland, however am not sure if it is open yet. Here is the website: http://www.wyndhamcarselandpark.com/ If you do end up camping there i believe that the bow from the highway 24 bridge upstream to the wier is closed from april 1 until the end of may. It is just a short drive to Mckinnons from there. Good luck!
  5. Fishpond has a couple of fly tying bags that would be perfect for travel. Here is the link to one of the two. I have been thinking of picking one up so i can bring something a little more organized than a couple shoeboxes and some zip lock bags full of my gear when going somewhere. I have seen them at wholesale sports, not sure where else carries them. http://www.fishpondusa.com/coyote.cfm
  6. I will take a print of the Burmis tree and moon in item #43.
  7. Hi Norman Not sure of the exact date that i will be heading up. If i remember correctly Landslide is open all year and lake of the falls opens July 1st. I will probably make a trip up there with my parents and my girlfriend however if all goes well might try and plan an overnight trip with some buddies. More than likely will be taking the heli trip as i have never been in a helicopter and a 15-20km hike isnt really that appealing to me. Michelle lakes however does sound appealing to me as well. I have never caught a goldens before so might have to head up there as well. DId you just fish from shore when you went there or did you bring along belly/pontoon boats? Bigbowtrout - the trips to Landslide and Lake of the Falls are $149 + tax and $2 per pound, extra weight. Michelle lakes is $249 + Gst and the same for luggage. For each trip there is a minumum of 3 passengers. They also offer trips to Coral Lake ($349), Obstruction Lake ($399), and Ram River Falls ($399).
  8. I was Just wondering if anyone has made the hike or taken the heli trip into either Landslide Lake or Lake of the falls to fish. My old man and i were thinking of making the trek up there this summer and are just wondering if it is worth the hike or the $$ for the heli. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. Tight Lines!
  9. For the past year i have had a pair of Hodgeman Breathables. They were only $120 when i bought them so i figured how bad could they be. What a mistake that was. They were great for the first few months but then started breaking holes on a monthly basis. I just ordered a pair of Simms G3 guide waders and am hoping those will be much better (from the feedback i have heard im sure they will). A friend of mine has a pair of patagonia waders and really likes those. Either way i think would be a great choice.
  10. We didnt catch anything to brag about. A few small brooks and bows. I was talking to a guy up at the Roche Lake resort and he said he pulled a 9 lb rainbow from there a month prior but that with the summer heat the fishing had really slowed down. Definitely on my list of things to do this spring though!
  11. So many to choose from, but i would have to say my two week trip a buddy and i took out to Vancouver Island. On our way out there we stopped in at Roche Lake near Kamloops fishing a few of the lakes they had there for Rainbows and Brookies. What a beautiful area that is. We camped on Black lake and had the whole lake to ourselves. Here is a shot from our camp. From there we made the trek to Campbell River. We spent most of our days fishing the Quinsam and Campbell for Pink Salmon however did make a couple other day trips. First we headed west on the island and fished the Elk River (A fly fish only river on Van. Island) for coastal Cutthroat. Lucky for us i think every other fisherman in the area was shoulder to shoulder on the Campbell and we had the river to ourselves. We also made the hour drive to the Gold River where i landed my first steelhead to date. What a beautiful river. Below is the pic of my steelhead. All in all it was a great trip. We didnt catch as much fish as previous years up in the Kitimat/Skeena system however i believe that the scenery made up for that. Cant wait for some new adventures in 2008! Tight Lines
