I've tied a few with 20lb test as a loop. They swing quite nicely in the water. Never caught anything on one yet though.

I downrigged with gear at that depth and nothing. I think i'll down rig with streamers next time.

If you want to save money on a battery I have one which is too small for my 14 foot lund but would be perfect for your boat. I'll sell it cheap.
