Where you hear that one?
-
How is it being a rip off when no one is forcing you to buy one? If you're not wanting a $800 dollar rod then don't buy one. Period.

I think we can all agree to delete the link of spawning areas then? Not something that should be just given away with no effort

Can This Site Create Something Useful?

This is way too confusing... -
Re-read dustin's post. It was the guys staying at the B&B that had the flip out, not the owners themselves. They could have misunderstood the owners. How do we know the no-tresspassing signs are not up just for their land (which is completely legitimate), and the anglers assumed that the river was private. Why not save yourself the argument and go have fun fishing. Either way, Going out of your way for something as simple as guys paying to stay at a B&B and being upset cause they think they're getting leap frogged is a waste of air. The time it would take for you to go to the crow and have the discussion could go a long way in cleaning up garbage on your favourite creek, or finding a rising fish in a favourite stretch.

Float Tubing Or Belly Boating The Bow

go buy a 50 dollar dingy that the drunkards use, wear shorts and sandals and use it as a location mover, not a fishing device. you'll be fine -
Too Hot To Fish Eastern Slopes
jayjjones11 replied to Ricinus's topic in General Chat - Fishing Related
We need to get more flow in the bow right now. This could be a bad two weeks. -
Not sure where you're getting that a 6 is too close to a 5 for streamers. If you want a little more fighting power, get the 6 weight in a saltwater format. I still think the difference between a 5 and a 6 is much greater then most believe, and certainly greater then the difference between a 7 and an 8.

Poll: Is It Time Yet For Classified Waters In Alberta
jayjjones11 replied to Smitty's topic in General Chat - Fishing Related
I'm not one for 'classifying', but we do need to increase the licencing cost for everyone (including the in province). Bigger concerns are what the people of Alberta are doing to their backyards (livingstone, oldman, etc). Putting restrictions on places such as Mclean and Indian Graves just pushed the yahoos into an area that has far greater importance to the fishing population. Seems to me the Livingstone/Oldman has more to lose then Mclean or Indian Graves have left. I'd love to see the livingstone and oldman made the same as the upper highwood. Provincial park it, and run it as such. That would slow down the yahoo traffic quickly. speaking of hooliganery, I wasn't too impressed by the person waterskiing the Bow as i was fishing (yes you read it correctly, water ski). Perhaps there is some need for a few 'chats' with the government. -
I'm confused how him asking between 2 different styles of simms boots, became an advertisement for korkers. odd.

doesn't matter, you strip strike it even if it's at your feet.
-
The size of the rod should not correlate with how hard you can set the hook when streamer fishing. You probably lost that 40 incher because you apparently striked with your rod tip, that's the only way i can see the rod being a factor in how hard you set the hook. Take a tip from a tarpon fisher, never lift the tip until that fish has been hit 2 or 3 times with a strip-strike, you should have a straight connection from line to hook and not using your rod to set the hook. An 8 weight should cover all your bases and a 7 weight would be easier to cast all day.

stick it to the man! I'll make it out this year, let me know when and where!

So If You Had To Learn To Cast With Your Opposite Arm
jayjjones11 replied to LynnF's topic in General Chat - Fishing Related
Casting Right, Reeling Left is an American thing. Casting Right, Reeling Right is british and scottish...neither is more correct -
Baby Tarpon and Bonefish love gummys (which is what they're tied for). Just as you could catch a fish on the bow using a bonefish bitter, gummys will catch the odd trout, but are in their hay-day around bonefish.

you'd expect someone with that signature would buy a sage..I like my T&T, but i've heard very positive reports about the Z-Axis switchs. Or you could drop the big bucks and buy one of those new Helios's that headscan posted about (you wanted light! never said anything about price range!)

Fishing Dries During Spring?
jayjjones11 replied to Brad29's topic in General Chat - Fishing Related
you'll find sporadic fish rising to them, but they certainly don't key into the BWO's when compared to the fall BWO and Pseudo hatch. Always good to have a few dries just in case. They don't take up much room in the fly box, and you'll regret not having them when you need them! -
where about in Chile were you?
