  1. I've had similar "tests" with giant lake fish eating emerging chironomids on the bottom of the surface film. It is so satisfying to finally present a fly that fools your quarry. These hunts are way more fun than blindly hucking worms in good looking water.
  2. Great blue spotted trout Brian. No bobbers certainly is more fun
  3. Probably secondary infection from a wound caused by an osprey or eagle (or large treble hook)
  4. That fish is from Lake Sundance. I caught her 3 weeks later. The one in the Bow is a different fish
  5. Great fun to go back and revisit the old spots. Looks like the Waterton. Cool to find a toad.
  6. Great adventure. Thanks for sharing your pics of those crimson jewels.
  7. Nice healthy fish, good job
  8. Steve, I've never had one attack a Cutt. I guess I don't troll them long enough
  9. This funny looking thing interrupted my dry fly fishing. Man he has a big head! Nice day for a walk along the creek today
  10. Awesome fish! Very cool to get rewarded for years of fishing. However, since this was an accidental by-catch when fishing for pike....you cannot brag or show it off to anyone. After it is finished getting stuffed it must be hidden away and never spoken of again. I'm curious what kind of fight this tank put up?
  11. A geezer gets even more wiser. Have a great day
  12. I hear the feet out of an old pair of waders may work
  13. Jigs and 20 ft leaders....break out the gear rods....your way more than half way there
  14. Check out the U of C greenhouse
  15. The University got pounded. Trees got blasted, greenhouses destroyed, cars and glass hammered. The insurance companies will be busy today.
  16. Looks like a fun day Steve. Too bad those elk are eating all the big gold fish. I will be out in December to do some non-C&R elk fishin'.
  17. I believe if it is under 24-30" you can go right up to the property line
  18. Thanks for sharing Don. Will you go again?
  19. You can also check out Burns lake. Come up the Sheep River from Bluerock. Lake Rae use to have fish but is prone to winterkill. Not sure if they stock it anymore
  20. Ain't it great to drive for 4 hours so that you can get frustrated. You just need another 400 flies to choose from Was everyone else struggling as well?
  21. Try this. Up to 300lb http://www.flyfishusa.com/float-tubes/pac-66s.htm This one to 325 http://www.flyfishusa.com/float-tubes/outcast-prowler.htm
  22. Good tips Terry. I have found that after a bunch of fish the line starts to wear out the hole inside the indicator and it starts to slip quite often (even when casting). Therefore I have returned to the old corky system. It adds another dimension to getting the fish in when you have to first land the toothpick, and then get down to where the fish is. Since we're releasing the fish its not that big a deal. I have rarely lost a fish while retrieving the toothpick. Someday I may get down to watch you land some fish.
  23. Langara Island, Queen Charolettes. It is an incredible trip...scenery, fishing and fine dining can't be beat.
  24. Great shots Steve. Looks like a trip full of fine memories. Never mind the creek fishing, the elk ate all the fish last fall.
  25. Thanks Max. Very cool to see the big Brookie. What a great surprise!
