I think the land used to be owned by Cominco. All the land where Wholesale Sports/Superstore/Ikea and the stuff by the river was all one big property for gravel/cement. Not sure what happened to the land after they built Deerfoot trail and started developing the area.

Did you get some Inconnu? How did they fight? I was at Kluane years ago and didn't know they were in the lake so all I fished for was lakers and grayling.

I was lucky enough to go on a fully guided trip with Mr. Bobloblaw. After hours of walking through the fields searching for the perfect flower, we finally arrived at the water where his mastery with the fly rod was allowed to shine. The poor fish are no match for this fellow. The evening highlight was when Bob hooked this fish and the sky exploded:

Took the new rod for a test drive at the lake today. Three fly rig, big indicator and 32 feet of leader...no problem. The rod is light, powerful and a pleasure to cast. Even brings fish in nicely. I tried it with the full sinking line and it was not much work to get the whole line out. It feels like a great tool.

That's how we keep finding all these fresh beer cans in the back eddies

So sad Jared. Some people just need a quick slap upside the head. How hard is it for guys in boats to NOT cast over water where a shore fisherman's line is? They are floating with the next spot only yards away and miles of river to travel. Pull your lines out and cast on the other side of the boat for 30 yards (there's a chance for a fish there too). If boats float over a spot that a guy is dry fly fishing in I think things are going to get really testy. You don't have to row the boat that far to give some room, and then just don't cast on top of someone. Respect is an easy thing to offer. Guides are in a position to set the right example and teach new fishermen...hopefully greed doesn't win over the right thing to do

Two of the fish I caught yesterday on dries had old hooks in them. One nice brown had a clouser stuck in his left pectoral fin. There was a large lump around the hook and a bunch of melanin (black pigment) had been released around the area and stained a big, black stripe down his golden fin. Another rainbow had a stonefly nymph stuck in it's back end. Localized inflammation is an immunological response to a foreign body/injury to the flesh. Darn fly fishermen are trying to poach via snagging.
