  1. Thanks for sharing Don. Will you go again?
  2. You can also check out Burns lake. Come up the Sheep River from Bluerock. Lake Rae use to have fish but is prone to winterkill. Not sure if they stock it anymore
  3. Ain't it great to drive for 4 hours so that you can get frustrated. You just need another 400 flies to choose from Was everyone else struggling as well?
  4. Try this. Up to 300lb http://www.flyfishusa.com/float-tubes/pac-66s.htm This one to 325 http://www.flyfishusa.com/float-tubes/outcast-prowler.htm
  5. Good tips Terry. I have found that after a bunch of fish the line starts to wear out the hole inside the indicator and it starts to slip quite often (even when casting). Therefore I have returned to the old corky system. It adds another dimension to getting the fish in when you have to first land the toothpick, and then get down to where the fish is. Since we're releasing the fish its not that big a deal. I have rarely lost a fish while retrieving the toothpick. Someday I may get down to watch you land some fish.
  6. Langara Island, Queen Charolettes. It is an incredible trip...scenery, fishing and fine dining can't be beat.
  7. Great shots Steve. Looks like a trip full of fine memories. Never mind the creek fishing, the elk ate all the fish last fall.
  8. Thanks Max. Very cool to see the big Brookie. What a great surprise!
  9. Tons of fly fishing stuff on Youtube
  10. Very healthy looking fish. Did they fight well? I imagine they bulldog rather than jump. I fooled a 13lb rainbow tonight on a variation of the "Bloom" leech...it even fools triploids. Thanks for sharing your pictures.
  11. Bloom's leech strikes again! Let see some more fish porn of these colorful critters.
  12. The Kootenay river at Creston is going north to the K lake. Then it travels west to Castlegar. The river loops into the states downstream from Koocanusa and then returns to Canada. It enters the states again south of Trail
  13. Good show Steve. Did you fish from shore/wading? I imagine you were using your sink tip line to get down a bit. How deep do you think the fish were?
  14. I tried to see if my Sage Rpl 5wt would fly if I drove fast enough with it on the roof of my vehicle on Sunday night in Sundance. If anyone hears of a misplaced rod that wants to come home please let me know. It is attached to an old Browning reel as well. Hopefully I am able to learn from the experience.
  15. Since I started getting serious about lake fishing....I have serious issues...and it's getting worse
  16. Good chance you are just lining fish that are stacked up in a certain spot. They may be looking at your flies, but not taking them. I see this happening in lakes quite often. At least you are casting where the fish are.
  17. Come on Troutslayer...you expect us to believe you caught a fish?
  18. Fish Cat 4 is an awesome tool....way better than a tube
  19. Do these "turns" look like Franklin's gulls
  20. That's what happens when Bloom, Beedhead and Myth leave the prairies and head to the mountains
  21. Great story. I love it when your 6wt feels inadequate!
  22. Which day would you be doing this?
  23. Sounds like fun. I didn't realize so many Caddis come out so soon after ice-off. I saw the same thing on some other lakes last weekend. Mayfly hatches are starting this week as well.
  24. Nice day for a walk. I wonder how the bugs are going to respond to these mats of rock snot....
