  1. Replace your current bag with a rubber one. You can get the Ghost Net replacement bags at fish tales for about $40.
  2. That's awesome Ryan! I plan on taking my kids there this summer for sure. Just need to figure out some time to do it.
  3. Pretty sure Wholesale sells Hardy.
  4. Another thing you can try is either cut two of the hooks off the treble with side cutters, or just take the treble off altogether and replace it with a single hook. Read about it. Going to do that for my kids treble hooks.
  5. That sucks dude. Thanks for the heads up.
  6. Just picked one up for the kids. Its the ECHO MPR (Micro Practice Rod). $39.95 cool little stick.
  7. I haven't seen you on here in quite a while, but I hope you are having a great Birthday!
  8. Hmmmm. Sounds like you seem to know a lot about these "bait fishermen" you keep referring to. Maybe the "it takes one to know one" would come in to play here.
  9. Everyone's thinkin' it....you're just sayin it, eh Bob?
  10. Get the Amundson TXS G2. It's $149 at Fish Tales and extremely light. I was looking at it and the Ross Fly Rise 2 (which is 4.7 oz. for a 5wt rod) and the Amundson felt lighter to me. Its a LOT nicer than the previous model, which I have and love. Was going to upgrade, but my current TXS seems to balance out my BVK just fine, according to the good folks at Fish Tales.
  11. Can't wait for your first report on it's maiden voyage! Slick work Mike!
  12. Now that's just crazy talk Doc!
  13. Or, you'll slip down a bank, land on it, and bust it. Like I did. But my bad karma came from mocking a fellow FFC member on losing his net, so the fishing Gods took mine away......
  14. Not a bad lookin rig Mike! Might look better if you knew what you were doing......
  15. What are you talking about??? There are no fish at the extension bridge.....
  16. I second the Jim McLennan idea. I have taken two courses from him, the Beginner Fly Fishing Course and the Intermediate Course (Listening to the Bow). If you are as new to Fly Fishing as you suggest, my personal recommendation is the beginner Fly Fishing Course. They focus on the basic fundamentals of fly fishing, including proper casting techniques. He's a great instructor and will help you in several areas. Just my two cents.
  17. Just Paid both of mine off this morning. Kim wasn't there, so I had to deal with another lady. She took my contact information. Sadly, I forgot to get her name, like a dumbass.
  18. Thank you Rick. Without your help, the auction wouldn't continue to be the success that it is year in and year out. Nice work.
  19. Awesome! How was the clarity?
  20. Very cool. Well done!
  21. I'm only confused about what are the fish on Glenmore Trail. Most say they are Chinook Salmon (for the mall), but I think Browns heading eastbound and Rainbows heading westbound.......... Sorry for the Highjack. Please continue......
  22. I don't have any first hand experience, at least not yet, but I have heard nothing but great things about this rod. The folks at Fish Tales gave rave reviews about it when they used them down an Christmas Island this past winter. Give them a call and pick their brains. I just picked one up, but haven't fished it yet (hoping tomorrow) to see what it's like. I did have a peek at them at the show and man was it a light rod. Not sure if this helps or not.....lol
