  1. That is possible but they weren't dressed like CO's, they were in a private vehicle and their "on water" behavior was more party less enforcement. I called RAP they told me it wasn't a CO issue if they weren't breaking the laws in the regs and the CPS call centre blew me off as well (i called the non-emegency #) I was told it wasn't a police issue if there is no crime being committed, I stated that there are to be no motorized boats on the river and the person (whos name and CPS id # i got)on the CPS side said she didn't feel it was a CPS matter. Never thought about 311... but if it's this hard to report a motorized vessel in city limits, maybe it's time to buy a jet boat......
  2. So last night I was fishing with a buddy around glenmore, and to jet skis blasted by????????????? I was pretty stunned as I know the bylaw against motorized craft in the city section, so my buddy tells me that ya this is th ethird time he's seen them on the water this week..... is there a # I can call when these douches are blasting around, there are no registration #s on the jetskis. I saw the fire dept go by a few time yesterday I am sure they must have seen these guys, but they are just fire fighters. Now I'm not against jets or tubers or anyone using the river but when you are launching in the city and there are clearly visable signs around stating no motorized craft you have to be a jerk-off to ignore the signs. Any ideas on a solution other than slashing their trailer tires
  3. How much do they charge.... if some one wanted to make a splash they could start charging a reasonable rate for moving cars and rake it in. The prices we are charged for shuttle service is a joke.
  4. That's what I was wondering, pull some trees aside with winches is pretty simple
  5. Hey all I heard a rumour that the carseland boat launches were washed away....... anyone been out there, and have any concrete info?
  6. And the time you wasted looking for an answer you already knew................ priceless
  7. if it's a game I play a lot I forget screwing around with half assed fixes that never really work well and head to EB and buy a used copy.
  8. Are you sure.. can you state a reference for this because the Alberta government states: The beds and shores of a river or stream that are bounded by private land may generally be traversed below the ordinary high water mark without fear of trespass. At all times, users of beds and shores should "Use Respect" of the land. Be mindful of fence lines and gates that are required to keep livestock confined.
  9. Have you looked at blank prices on ebay? pretty darn cheap.... that is a super sick rod, my go to for pretty much everything except the bow or bullies
  10. So in thier infinite wisdom Sage has dropped (allegedly) the most popular rod they ever marketed, again. To bring out a new rod that is faster, better, stiffer, tracks better, allows you to feel line unlike anything before and many more marketing promises that will make many realize they NEED the ONE. I for one can't wait to replace all of my obsolete sticks. I don't know how I will be able to throw my Zs with all that extra modulus' until I can get a ONE. http://www.angling-international.com/eftte...y-rod/sage-one/ How did we cast before..... I for ONE (haha marketing) am thrilled that Sage has once again saved us from our poor habits and weak casts. “The ONE rod offers a more fluid transmission of energy from the arm to the fly. The eye sees the cast it wants to make and it is translated to the hand and through the rod instantaneously.” How many more casts can be made in a day if you don't have to wait for your hand to eye coordination to catch up.
  11. if it is riveted check the rivets, redoing them sucks.... thats where your leakes will come from
  12. I would like to but saving my cash for Volbeat
  13. Hyde's drift boat repair kit...... off of their site http://hydeoutdoors.com/onlineflyshop/inde...;product_id=271
  14. To put it into perspective, we as Calgarians were concerned about how the chicks flashing on the Red Mile would make us look as fans............... thanks vancouver. And that is why I stopped being a canucks fan in 1994
  15. Hey everyone, Is there a manufacture that makes coloured wire guides? I have heard of Illusion but I can 't find any info on them. I actually surprised as I thought this would be something more people wanted, isn't chrome, black and gun smoke getting old?
  16. I'm no lawyer, BUT a person how tresspasses in Ab is not subject to anything close to a conditional sentance, it isn't an inditable (sp) offence and there is no jail time associated therefore no conditional offence. Conditional sentencing became part of the Canadian justice system with the passage of Bill C-41 in 1995. Canadian lawmakers were concerned with the overuse of incarceration as a means of addressing crime in Canada, particularly as it applied to aboriginal peoples. Rather than focusing on incarceration, conditional sentencing is designed to keep some offenders out of jail and in the community. Often this means serving their sentence under "house arrest" in their own homes where they can continue to work or attend school. Not all offenders are eligible for the program. To be considered, a sentence must be less than two years long, must not be an offence that carries a mandatory minimum sentence, and the judge must be convinced the offender does not pose a danger to community Tresspass (2) A person who is guilty of an offence under subsection (1), whether or not any damage is caused by the contravention, is liable (a) for a first offence, to a fine not exceeding $2000, and ( for a 2nd or subsequent offence in relation to the same land, to a fine not exceeding $5000. Worse then a tresspasser is a fear monger
  17. that's a funny quote as it shows exactly why crits were created. Criteriums are a north american creation because it is difficult to get spectators (sp) to line a road waiting for the peleton to blast by as they do everywhere else. Good race to watch

    Dry Fly Line

I'm a pretty big fan of the Rio Trout LTs..... I think the DT is the way to go though, I fish the Trout LT on my 4wt 10' Z Axis and my 2wt 7'10" TXL, both didn't load very well with the WF unless I had 30' of line out, I've since switched to the DT and I find it's much more responsive at spring creek distances. BUT if I'm tossing drys on the Bow out of the boat I switch up to the WF as it casts MUCH better at 30'+ and it casts wya better with large drys

    Dry Fly Line

Disco, in our current environment of unlimited line choices you have to ask what will the line be used for mostly? Dries, nymphing or chucking streamers?
  20. have they removed the rope? I wanna do it but I think I'm going to take the right side (facing downstream) first though...... I'm 100% going to be wearing my PFD maybe 2 and I won't be taking anyone in the boat when I do it.
  21. Suggestion: Fish the Bow, it's not blown out, it's actually fishing really well. The only reason you feel it's blown is you've never cracked the code for high water. Get out there and learn the high water river, you'll become a much greater angler making this hard on yourself. Lakes are for suckas
  22. I would have responded to this thread if they had been hunting from a jet boat......
  23. Hey sqeaky wheel...... there's your grease. Good on you Beeker, we deserve better from manufacturers in this industry, take em to task.
  24. I was fishing the city section the day the ban was dropped well into the evening & the CFD went by 4 times in thier jet boat. I wasn't hiding, right there on shore no problems...
  25. Peter, you are on a slippery slope my friend. So from your quoted comment I'll assume you wont be fishing bullies this year. there are a fraction of bull trout that once was and we don't eat them
