  1. Nice tie Doc.Is this a hint?
  2. Time of year and water conditions gives me a good idea of what to use and how to fish it.Usually my starters are worm #8 redish brownish color 12" flora (if waters clear) #16-#14 flash back PT then either small green or red or chrome for my last fly. I'll change my flies if i notice something that convinces me i should change.Like a flash in the water mid depth that suggests i should be emerging rather then drifting.Or i notice a large fish in shallow water. I'll also change my rig because I'm simply board of it and want to try something else even if it still working. A successful day for me would be to have caught a few nymphing a couple on the dry and some hard hits on the swing.Oh and also to out fish the guy I'm with.
  3. Awesome couldn't have said it any better.
  4. Agreed the RCMP should no the laws.If you would have called FW they would have told you it was legal, they no.#'s are suposed to be on anything with a 10HP or greater. I called the Strathmore RCMP once about 2 drunks doing donuts on the ice at Careland weir. They were also ripping up the road going down the hill. They had to call me back for directions to the weir as both of them were from out of province.
  5. I cheered for the Eskimos yesterday.
  6. Thanks,I was told once before about BND.I thought these were different but after a quick search i think your right.
  7. These are all over the shallows, what are they?
  8. Agreed there should be more signs for the none angling community, this would also make people who poach think twice. The #is on the back of your license.
  9. I no what you mean.I think.I have never casted a glass rod but i would assume its more like some of the mid to soft rods that i have. They load quickly and feel very nice. I have casted a 6wt line on my 5wt Z just to see how it feels.I found it to load quickly but it just didn't feel the same as casting a softer rod. Tungsten, starting to understand this feel thing.
  10. Nice.
  11. Good idea Taco. Thanks, the floor on my boat will never look the same.
  12. Nice brown Darrin,in dirty water too congrats.
  13. I'm looking to do the same,I'm assuming your putting them in from the bottom yes?Head exposed? Also do they get pushed back in after walking on them? And how much are you leaving exsposed?
  14. Interesting to see OPO on boots. One question i have is felt the same on all boots?Or does a $300 pair have different felt then say a $100 pair? Out of all the pairs I've had over the years the felt is worn out long before the boots.
  15. You bought the guide boots, you should have bought the fly fisherman boots.
  16. The charger should have a deep cycle setting, then 2 amp is the best.If there's no deep cycle setting then you have the wrong charger.CT does sell one with a DC setting. I think the one you have(intelligent)should be automatic. If you put it on 30amp it will charge it until its about 77% full then it will lower the amps until its full.
  17. My guess is 10 minutes on the Bow with those boots and you'd be laying in the water. 1000 days Pfft, what do you have a carpeted path to your fishing holes?
  18. Oh you can bet that the locals would be watching the river like a hawk.I now i would. I no the Bow is not the Thompson but you couldn't use bait down stream of 22X in the mid 80's or maybe earlier. They new what bait does back then. Why has it taken so long for the T?Its all about money not saving the fish.Too bad really. #625
  19. Ya its quite the sound when they let go.
  20. The unfortunate thing is almost all the trees in that area are a little rotten. So many nails have bin pounded in.Its only a matter of time before they cut down all the others.Would be nice if they planted a few seedlings around the area.
  21. Hell ya, missed me and my trailer by inches. I was sitting having a beer when the wind kicked up,twigs and pine cones started to fly so i got up and went under my awning to have a look.Crack! Landed right on my chairs. The top 15 or so feet broke when it hit another tree on the way down. This saved my trailer. Just in front of the fire wood is where i was sitting. My two chairs were crushed
  22. Lancashire dis.I have an account there.I'm not sure if they have finished stuff. They sell mostly rough .Also there is no such thing as straight pine boards LOL! PM me maybe i can help.
