  1. Sustainable agriculture at it's best http://www.kuriositas.com/2013/11/cork-harvest-for-patient-farmer.html Regards, Don
  2. Michael, When I first saw the ad I thought of a guy who tried the top wire stunt on Stauffer. He slipped, the bard went in just above the knee and sliced to just about the groin missing the femoral artery by 1/2". He bleed a lot. Not enough to die but enough. And like you, I see 4 idiot moves in the ad. There are two of the list that effect me. Keeping the silly *hit alive driving up our health care costs and ticking off the landowner getting all anglers banned. As far as breaking a rod or ripping waders, Orvis builds more every day - unfortunately they warranty fence climbers. Regards, Don
  3. I'll make it easy for ya'. How about 3 at least with a fourth depending on your eyesight. Don
  4. Weedy, Ya just gotta get glasses or maybe based in your post lasses. Don
  5. In the newest copy of Fly Fusion on page 4>5 is a double page ad for Orvis showing a person crossing a fence. How many ways has this person done stupid? Don
  6. Jay.. The Govt of Alberta works very hard to pound the crap outta spawners or other wildlife that is highly susceptible. Examples would include the use of bait for whitefish during fall migrations, hunting seasons open during rut, targeting early season pike and on and on. Fair chase is not a large part of Conservative thinking. Don
  7. Or this weird one - how about a daphnia fly. This one uses 20 lb. Maxima as stand-offs c/w small beads super glued to melted mono ends.
  8. For another, a Glen's leech using a dark brown dyed mink c/w red wire rib
  9. This is a shrimp utilizing UV set resin as a over back Don
  10. Ft, Is lead a material? If not, are beads? Not looking for an argument, just some clarification. Regards, Don
  11. FT, Invented by Dean Baaynes is by far the best Stillwater fly ever. If one discounts the lead, it requires one material only - marabou. Below is the Catatonic Leech.
  12. The Hot Tug. See:http://www.hottug.nl/hottug_en.htm Don
  13. Silver... Brings back memories of Lees Lake many years ago in the SW bay with rainbows and even earlier at Peppers Lake when I picked up two rainbows that averaged 8 lbs. Regards, Don
  14. Hi, Had a decent day @ a local lake and posted this on another site See: http://outdoorsmenforum.ca/showthread.php?t=196332 The flies are tied from wig materials that are available all over the place near Halloween. Regards, Don
  15. And from one who puts up with a gong show every weekend in my area, just what is wrong with a gong show. At least your bikini clad babes don't come with assault rifles and cannisters of ammo. If you folks kept the gong show in the city, the people out in the country would really appreciate it. What's fair is fair. Please don't export your knot heads out here. We got plenty of our own. Don
  16. I just don't get it! Every weekend it's a free for all in the bush. 'bout anything goes. What is fair is fair. If the population comes up here and does what it damn well pleases, just what is wrong with treating the city the same way. How about a mud bog in Fish Creek Park? If you all can run jet boats up all the rivers working you way around both canoes and kayaks, what makes the city off limits? Don
  17. Nothing like a horny enforcement type trying to impress the ladies. And just think, we could have a new Western. CDN sport. Playing Dodge ball with rafters. Don
  18. Guys, Last I looked the world was up to 6,500,000,000 people many of which fish the Bow. So if a few hundred or so got run over, who would really care. The loss would be be made up in just one day of popping out babies. And just think, would it reduce crowding on the Bow - not a lot. Now where do it order my 300 HP jet sled? Don
  19. Taco is bang on regarding the Whites. Bull trout are suffering the same fate in lots of streams. Don
  20. Fishi... For what it's worth, pay attention to coverage. In Alberta and BC , Telus is best. Some of the wireless companies barely cover the Calgary/Edmonton/Fort Mc areas. Regards, Don
  21. Peter, Mike is right. Get a permit from Sustainable resource development. They generally want the bird and will check it for bullet holes. They may decide to keep it or give it to you. Great Horned Owls are nearly the smelliest thing that exists. Pack it well in several plastic bags and freeze it. The feathers on the birds is very webby. Never found a use for them. They do make a great mount though. Regards, Don
  22. Weedy.. It's weedy not woody. And the position is for Pro Staff not Pro Shaft. Now back into your cage! Don
  23. And the answer is: http://www.youtube.com/embed/2150iFXF5Vc?rel=0 It would even solve downtown parking problems. Don
  24. Steve, A quick & dirty net search got me this: What can I do if I am not sure about what I can bring into Canada? If you have something specific in mind that you think you would like to buy abroad that is made of meat or dairy products, animal skins or bird feathers, you can contact the Border Information Service (BIS) before you leave Canada. Call 1-800-461-9999 to reach the automated service 24 hours a day, year-round or to speak to an agent during office hours. If you are already outside Canada, you can call (204) 983-3500 or (506) 636-5064. Information can also be accessed on the Canada Border Services Agency website. What happens if I bring back an item that is not allowed? The prohibited item will be taken away from you at Canada Customs. There are other penalties as well, like fines and even jail sentences. But you can get occasionally get things through w/o difficulty. Regards, Don
  25. Being as I don't speak in capital letters, what is a CP? Don
