  1. I think it will even get worse if they impliment the one can limit city wide... The people that have more garbage in a week (not sure the reasons why someone would have this amount of garbage, but it's possible) to fill their own can will undoubtedly start filling up their neighbors in the early hours if they charge a fee for extra bags!! P
  2. Actually Chris, load that thing with some butter tarts (which are essentially mini pies [the equivalent of cupcake/mini cakes]) and fire away! P
  3. If a pontoon is really what you are after... http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-b...QAdIdZ198853240
  4. Dave, I guess it would depend on the water... For the Bow/Elk, etc. where there is nothing more then class II/III (if that) standard floor would be perfect (though need beaver boards or casting platform for sure)!! And yes the more gear/weight definitely effects tracking/holding etc. Good points! Cheers, P
  5. Any garden shop or even Home Depot, etc. P
  6. Google "Star Rafts" some ok reviews, some not so good reviews (boats are made off shore)... I used to be a ww rafting guide for the university I attended in Idaho and your get what you pay for, that's for sure.. I wouldn't consider anything that wasn't a 12' - 14' self bailer!! Aire, Maravia, Hyside and on the (slightly) lower end NRS are all good rafts! Aire has a great deal on their 12' Tribs (on their specials page) $2000 (Tribs are their "off shore" version), plus about $500 for a fishing frame! Buying new you get a very good (5 year warrantee for the Trib, 10 year on the Aire - Aire makes all the Outcast boats). PVC has it's advantages (weight saving and slick & smooth), but so does Hypalon (very strong but heavy). The only complication is you would have to drive down to Idaho or have it sent up which make it a tad bit more expensive. If you are interested in a raft, I think Kimball Sports out of Cardston sell off their previous years boats (PM to Kip - Fishguide76 on the board). Or if you have any specifics for me I can try to help. Cheers Peter *Edit* I should answer your original question... A decent ww raft/fishing raft capacity should be 1000 - 1500 lbs 12' - 14' (or so) respectively depending on the quality.

  12. Jay, I think you mean "Tern"!! P
  13. From where I was fishing there was a HUGE BWO hatch, but no rising fish... Though I did manage 2 bows, a 20" brown (taped) a whitie and a sucka (3 ldrs as well) in a couple of hours with VisePeasent. So I don't think in the grebes put the fish down at all... Maybe the pelicans did. I think the temp had more of an effect on the fish then the birds... P
  14. He can also try over-lining his axiom, as well... Probably feel the same (or similar)! P
  15. Out of curiousity, what do you mean by "upper bow"?! FYI if you mean the NW Calgary section that is closed until June 1st!! P
  16. Some good info online for fiberglass repair on boats (specifically canoes, but same, same)... I've done gel coat repairs on my canoe (fairly simple with either a 2 part epoxy or puddy - sold at MEC- MEC also sell fiberglass repair kits FYI). My reco would be to use the 2 part puddy - sets up much quicker, way easier to shape & sand! http://www.fish.state.pa.us/anglerboater/1...99/fibergls.htm I think Dune had the name of a guy (locally) that does gel coat repairs - he couldn't find it last time I inquired so I did my own (mine were not through the fiberglass though!)... I wonder if Alberta Marine (or another shop) does repairs... Anyway, I'm sure if you are somewhat handy and have a little patience you should be able to do it yourself (with the online instructions) I guess it depends on the size of the repair... If it's just gelcoat and is reasonable size, lemme know I can assist (I have enough epoxy to last a life time). P
  17. Interesting!! I wonder if that had anything to do with Michael Moore's film "Sicko" and random Americans (traveling through Canada) to get medical care in Cuba?! P
  18. I stand corrected... From the Park Boundary downstream to Canmore Open all year... P
