I gotta whack load of 'em, but lets start with this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=181yYEAmvnA -
Birchy, I tried to tell some french people your joke. They didn't seem to get it. Either that, or they didn't speak english. Not sure that it mattered.

Hey Rock, This is how it works! Starts with one topic, has a misunderstanding, morphs to something COMPLETELY different (nice touch on the Bono reference Rev.) and gets to two pages, showing no signs of stopping. I guess to appease some, you have to add a fishing component. Here goes. I just learned there are pike in the Seine. Wish I had brought my fly rod and some of MTB's streamers. By the way, to both Max and Rock. You are both good guys. Don't hate, appreciate.

Hey FishHead, I'm in Paris. Love the city, and most of it's people. However, it has always seemed to me it has more than it's fair share of assholes. Begs a question: You from Paris? Just wondering.

Hey Dustin, I didn't see any of this post giving you a hard time. As one of the outspoken 1st years, I actually thought your original comment was pretty funny. As far as the contest part of this goes, I'm all for it. I can guarantee anyone watching me try most of that stuff will get a great laugh out of it! -

Lets see: Fish catching ability, small check Casting: sucks Ability to even know what half those casts are: sucks Line control: sucks High sticking: sucks Swing presentation skills: sucks Czech Nymphing: sucks. Dry fly, really, really sucks Whats a loop? That's one of those trailing things, isn't it? If so, I'm ok at that. If not, sucks. But what the hell, LS is roasting weenies. I'm still in. -

Dan, If you're coming during Stampede, you will need to factor in hangover time! You have to hit the city one night. Lots of interesting "sights" to behold! -

Weedy1, where are ya when I need ya? Put this through the translator!!! I think he may have called me out, but I'm not entirely sure. I do know he just called whities cracka assd (is there a vowel missing) fish. And I think he called out the King. Very confusing to anyone over 40, that I can tell you. He does seem proud of that yellow rod. Gee, wonder who started that trend?
-
King, Great idea. Gives me a goal in life: Be cool like Max and the King. Max, Do you honestly have a yellow rod? That's funny.
-
Hey, I fished with Max too! And "The King of Swing". I also met and talked to Gordy Howe for about 15 minutes a couple of years ago. Talked about golfing and fishing in Texas when he played with the Aero's before he started telling the old Hockey Stories. It was really cool to look at the faces of the Canadian guys gathered around the table. Rapture might not be too strong a word? On my first trip to Canada to visit my then girlfriend, now wife, I went out with her sister and her boyfriend. The boyfriend was Gord Miller, who was then a 20 yr old broadcaster in Edmonton. I sit down at a table with them and a couple of other guys. The other guys were Dave Semenko and Dave Lumley. They were introduced to me like I should know who they were. I'm like "how's it going guys?" Just oblivious. Only through conversation do I figure out they played for the Oilers. I don't remember them buying me any beer though. Cheap bastards. Easy to call them that from a distance!
-
Oh, so now I see. The cool just jumps off the page. Sorry for calling "The King of Swing" uncool. You know, if you could get that car of yours in the background, it would just seal the deal. You wouldn't be able to beat the ladies off with a stick. Not even a 13'6" one. By the way, isn't Max's bigger?
-
Din, Listen to MTB. His streamers may be big enough to be seen from space, but them big suckers catch fish. Just don't let one hit you!
-
Taco, Portuguese? Nice. Lynn: 1. Giblet dressing. If you are not from the south, you wouldn't understand. And my grandma's banana pudding. haven't had it in probably 30 years, but I'll never forget. 2. Lights already up (because I am leaving for Paris this week. Don't think I've mentioned that today.) Decorations 1st week of December. 3. I think anything before 10 am is just tacky, unless you are a happy drunk. Then, whenever. 4. 3 wt rod. I'll get the reel.

What.....where.... Anyone seen Mr. Kotter (or Kotairrrrr). Actually, I'm more like Horshack, don't you think? And since I've just become "the Rickr" am I supposed to start referring to myself in the third person? I think Rickr needs to watch that video now. Rickr likes videos. Oh and Cheeler, takes a special man to carry a yellow stick. Though not necessarily a cool one. More like short bus special. Edit: Watched the video. There's 10 minutes Rickr will never get back.
-
Since it's usually my job to take posts off topic, here is my attempt to get it back on. Made with BBT's recipe. Yummy, but I think I made it a bit thin (only 1/2 the recipe and it still took up much of the pan) because it cooked a bit quicker than the recipe. Also, just a touch salty, but I may have put a bit too much in. That said, there is none left. Kids tore it up. I tried some with Jam. Perfect! First time I've ever had Bannick Bread. Won't be the last No pictures of Pocahontas. At least not on this website..... Edit: Figured out why it was salty. Teaspoon, tablespoon. One makes Bannick tasty. One makes Bannick salty. Guess which one I used.
-
Weedy, That thing's like 10 minutes long. Is there a highlight package? Cliff notes?
-
I am suddenly VERY hungry. I may make some of this tonite, then dress my wife up in a Pocahontas outfit....
-
So I've noticed lately a few new, younger, additions to your Spey Rod community. Suddenly there are lots of BEEEYYYAHHHHS, Hells yea mengs, and other hip hop speech creeping into the Spey Rod reports. It brought up a question in my mind: Is it possible to be cool and fish with a spey rod? After years of being, and observing other fishermen, I can make the following statement: It is very close to impossible to be cool with any type of fishing rod in your hand, and even closer to impossible with a Fly Rod. So with a Spey Rod, no way. And has anyone seen Toolman's car? Practical, yes. But the antithesis of cool. So Max, Brent and other young folk, stop living a lie and embrace your geekiness! Because make no mistake, geeks you are. (but geeks who can catch fish, I'll grant you that)
