  1. I've done well using nymphs like Evil Weevils and pheasant tails out there. Chironomids and caddis dries (CDC and Elk) have also been pretty good. There are some nice bulls in there as well so don't forget to take some bigger streamers as well.
  2. I'm sure they would be good to eat. I'd like to try it. I'd hate to meet one in open water. I think there was an article on the net somewhere of dudes catching these (or other squid) on the fly.
  3. I sent off 2 dozen yesterday and a nice Carrie Stevens Streamer.
  4. Agreed on the 2wt, maybe even a 0wt. Sexy looking little stream there, but if you gents really want to Kick it Taco style, ya gotta look the part. BTW, I also found this pic from some of his early fishing days.
  5. It sounds like you are creating too long of a head for the line. Adding a 15' (?) section after the head of the WF isn't how the line was intended to be used. Depending how deep you want to go, I would look into the streamer tip lines, ie WF6S6 which is a single line with a 15' sinking section designed into the head. If you are looking for a bit more versatility, look at the versitip kits. They have a hinge design, but you can change out the tips to get floating, intermediate, type 3 and type 6 tips. 8wt and up also include a type 8 tip I believe.
  6. I know you are busy getting settled into the new place, but hopefully you get some time to fish!
  7. Best thing to do is to use photobucket or flickr and link the image URL.
  8. Great shots. You should enter them into the September photo contest. The theme is head shots.
  9. Actually, I'll make it 2. Let's show her some Canadian hospitality.
  10. Nice broons Andikapp. Welcome to the site.
  11. Awesome! You have some great images and some great looking fish to boot. Glad I can see these places through your posts, because I don't think I'd make it to those locations otherwise.

    Full Sink Line

I've got a deep 7 and I use it on my 6 and 7wts. It is fairly easy to cast and sinks really quick. If you are fishing shallow lakes, 15 or less, it's too quick.
  13. Must be record season. Just found a thread on a record brown being netted. http://rockymtnfly.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4436
  14. They stock triploids in there I believe, or have at some point from what I have been told. regardless, they must have a stellar food source in order to get that large.
  15. Ya, The Peer to peer has been down for quite a while. I've talked to Kevin, the programmer and am hoping that he'll continue to work on the program. I really enjoyed using it, and still do, but without the peer to peer support, it takes away from it a bit. BTW, if anyone is interested in getting my archive of .fly files, send me a PM and I'll give you a web address where you can download it. There are about 1700 flies in a zip file.
  16. Have you guys done any throat pumps to get a glimpse at that they are eating? How is the perch situation after all the netting that has been done?

    West Coast Pic's

Thanks for posting the pics Gary. Wondering what your best fly of trip happened to be, that purple marabou iron looks interesting.
