  1. That is a sweet looking fly. I love the 360 degree viewing, that is killer. I agree with AC in the pattern description. I think the ostrich is likely tied on with a mono rib on the bottom, perhaps 3-4 herls in what looks like a callibeatis colour. I'm thinking that the feelers may actually be a cree hackle and they look stiffer than the partridge. Either way, I think they look awesome.
  2. Another blog I find interesting is moldy chum. http://www.moldychum.com
  3. it took you a week.... lol You need more practice decorating.... How long would it take to build this?
  4. Nice fly Kid, it's tugworthy(©) indeed. Don't fish this one, put it in a safe spot and tie another dozen.
  5. Those look pretty good. If you pack the hair a bit tighter, and use deer belly if you have it, they will have a fuller look. The packing is something I have trouble with, bit makes a pile of difference and will give the fly a lot more floatation.
  6. Have a happy one. Just like Lynn mentioned, you should have a couple things coming your way.
  7. Get a subscription to a few magazines. I usually get a few every year, the gift that keeps giving. Fly Fusion, Fly Tyer, Trout Fisherman and Fly Fisherman are my favourites. Forgotten Flies is a killer book to have. I'm looking for it's big brothers, Rare and Unusual Fly Tying Materials Vol 1 and 2, but at over 500 a piece, it ain't gonna happen soon. The flies of Alberta book would be good for the fly tyer on your list as well.
  8. Nice flies guys. I can't tie terrestrials to save my life.
  9. It does suck a bit, but hey, I do get to fish for salmon, steelhead, gar, musky, bass, crappie and cats. No snow, but it's getting colder. the army is on standby just in case the 10cm is forcast.
  10. Thanks guys.
  11. Thanks all. Lynn, thanks so much for the steak. Everyone in the tent loved it
  12. It's great for nymphs. If it's long enough, streamers and clousers. I have some orange I can swap.
  13. Please give my wife a shout later today Lynn. (555) 493-3304 She doesn't know about the steak part of the deal.

  17. Excellent tutorial or SBS as you say. I love the Hot Spot patterns. I use a couple myself. I haven't tried out shrim like that, but there is a pretty common, scud pattern with an orange dot in the center.
  18. The Andy McKee video is really cool. That is amazing depth of sounds he can produce off just one instument. I've never seen that type of guitar before, but it's wicked looking.
  19. lol Nice.
  20. Click "My Controls" at the top and then click the "Change Personal Photo" link on the left hand side menu. You can upload or link a photo from there.
  21. That looks great. The fish looks much better, and the graphic overall looks cool. I hope your not thinking I'm a graphics guy.... I can code like a monkey, but I just don't have much in the way of the digital arts down.
  22. I used to work downtown at teatro and we would have celebrities in almost every night. BNL, Tom Jackson, Jan Arden, Potsi from happy days, and lots more. I also worked out at a golf course and got to play an occational round. I once was paired up with Mike Vernon and Al MacInnes right before they were traded.
  23. I'm game. Thanks for suggesting Ottawa and not toronto I'd say Dave should tie an Oilers fly though. Here is the Whale Tailed Kaiton's Killer from the last time. http://flyangler.ca/flytyer/patterns/kaitons_killer.php And the Copper and blue from the first meeting.
  24. Lots of people have been "upgrading" to XP after they get vista. lol I'm with tech, wait until they have out at least service pack 2 get their *hit in order. Personally, I'm looking forward to the new Leopard OS on the Mac.
