bigbowtrout
What a great pick up and it should help Kipper and the Flames make a good run at the playoffs http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=3196152
Taco
What for? They gonna choke in the first round anyways..... all pro teams outta Kalgree choke in the first round...it's a historically proven fact :P
bigbowtrout
At least we will make it to the first round
snakeman
I haven't watched too many Flames games this year, but after last nights performance I think Sutter should be trying to improve their defense. Kipper looked great, guys like Eriksson and Warrener, not so much. But it won't hurt to reduce Kipper's workload, and Cujo looked solid in the Spengler cup so that is a good pick-up. He was my favourite player when the Oilers had him.
birchy
Coming from an Oilers fan... That's a solid pickup. Kipper shouldn't have to play as often as he does. As the article mentioned.. he's only not started one game this year. Cujo is still good enough to give him some more rest..
adc
Yeah, Calgary should sign a few more 40 year olds..........Try and get their average age up over 35..........Good grief!!!

TerryH
............. Terry what do you have to talk about? you win one game now your back in the race LOL Actually Chris, I wasn't talking about the Oilers, so no need to bury us all in numbers. The question I raised was what's the point of the Flames making the playoff's, when they can't ever get past the first round (don't remind me about THE Cup). Remember the Peanuts cartoon where Lucy pulls the football away every time Charlie Brown comes to kick it -- sort of reminds me of the relationship between the Calgary Flames and their fans. KingSalmon
Is Cujo really worth $1.5 Million for this season...as a backup? There's cheaper labour to be found...but ohhhh k. Wow, the guy won the Spengler Cup with a bunch of wash-ups
birchy
Seasons half over.. I'm pretty sure that means they'll only be paying him $750,000.. I think he's worth it.
snakeman
Rob Blake is the next to sign with the Flames. Terry what do you have to talk about? you win one game now your back in the race LOL Actually they've won 4 in a row now, only losing 1 game in 2008 so far. People write it off as a lucky streak when really it's just a matter of the Oilers finally getting the roster they had planned on having all year, but couldn't have because of all the injuries. The flames only have one more win than the Oil.

I think he's worth it. 650k according to nhl.com, which should be a bargain since he probably won't be trying to chop off any heads come playoff time. bhurt
I say it now... Blake (if we get him) will help out our defence for a year, good leader to lead a young bunch into the playoffs and get through the first round! Now as for Cojo..... Well lets take a look. 1) He chocked in Tronoto and he was suppose to be their saving grace! 2) He didn't last very long and phoneix 3) Sure he did good in the spangler cup but it still isn't a NHL Playoff Only thing he is good for is to give kipper a small rest, but I still think he will chock he's good at that!!! Guest bigbadbrent
he's gonna be skating here pretty quick.. he'll be a pre-playoff pickup. I'm worried that he'll want to be with Naslund
Din
ridiculous move if you ask me, they've got 4 good young goalies in their system already. good move for player development...... never even gave McElhinney a shot. one game????? you gotta be kidding me. cant expect a guy to be able to step in and play well if you don't even let him play. they shot themselves in the foot from the beginning for not letting the backup develop and get some experience, kipper has played like garbage. Nick0Danger
Thats the Point Curtis can go to the AHL and get some game time, and cujo, can back up keeper and be a asset in the dressing room. Curtis was not doing much up here anyway.
snakeman
I thought Forsberg was signed to a team in Europe this season?
