next contest...CHRISTMAS PATTERNS...any patterns may be entered (streamers, dries, etc..) as long as they exhibit Christmas colors (red, green, white, gold, silver, etc..)...let the creativity begin...patterns in by Sunday, December 16 at 9:00 PM...have fun (and listen to Christmas carols while tying ;) )...

That's funny you posted this contest. I just finished screwing around doing a mock Christmas fly for my daughter.

Body: Red/Green Mylar Tinsel with a splash of Yellow

Wing: Red Bucktail

Throat: White Bucktail

Hackle: White

 

And a partridge in a pear tree………

A slight variation on one I tie and fish with some success. i call it the Candied Midge. Enjoy.

Head: Green Craft Bead, Ice Dub UV Pearl

Body: Lead Free Round Wire 0.015" over middle third of hook,

Red Midge Flex 1/8",

Green Wire AWG ~24 wrapped opposite of midge flex

Tail: White Goose Biots

heres my first go with a married wing

 

 

Tag: Silver Oval

Tip: Red floss

Tail: GP Crest

Body: Green Floss

Rib: Red floss lead with silver oval tinsel

Wing: Green, Red, Black Goose shoulder

Hackle: Red Hen

Head: Black

I'd like to do this fly over with a green and red married tail...................but I couldn't be bothered with that mouse lurking 'round.
