MattyTaylor Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Hey all, I'm helping plan a buddy's stag and camping is being thrown around as an option. Good group of guys but I'm sure things will inevitably get loud and late and don't want to be those idiots wrecking things for all the nearby families. Anyone have any experience with group camps in the area - say 2 hours radius from Calgary? Fishing, mountain biking and golf would be the likely things on the docket for the weekend. Thanks in advance. Quote
fishinglibin Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Wyndam sp? Carseland group site. Golf at Speargrass fish the Bow Quote
lad Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Fishing, Mountain biking and golf- Crowsnest Pass excels at all three. Finding a place to party without disturbing others would be very easy too. Quote
jasonvilly Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Syncline group camp About 20 minutes from crowsnest pass. Golf, fishing (beaver mines, castle etc) all nearby. http://www.rockymountaincamping.ca/SynclineA.html Or I have done porcupine group camp in kananaskis. Fishing (k lakes or spray) golf at brewsters 15 mins away. Also a casino nearby. http://www.albertaparks.ca/bow-valley-pp/information-facilities/group-use/porcupine/ J Quote

I believe they are all government run once again... Quote
BigFoamy Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 I was going to say syncline as well. Last time I group camped was there. it was pretty good. Quote
bigalcal Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 I would have recommended the Honeymoon group camp on the Upper Oldman Rd, but as mentioned above Rocky Mountain Camping is not the private operator anymore and I'm not sure if Alberta Parks will be opening the group camps. It seems they will have a skeleton crew working the campgrounds above Hwy #3 on the FTR......However I could be wrong. Honeymoon would have been perfect...but now that I think about it, I'm not even sure if it reopened after the flood and road closures. I guess I'm not much help.. http://www.albertaparks.ca/honeymoon-creek/ Quote
