jnovlan Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Great to watch a master craftsman at work! Also helps me to understand how bamboo rods are crafted and why they are so expensive! Loved the video-- and enjoy my chats with Don when we cross paths fishing. Quote
jdangler Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Thank You, that was great, a Master Craftsman indeed, makes you appreciate the skill & the art of bamboo rods Quote

Ricinus Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Don builds a beautiful rod....for a lefty Mike Quote
bigbowtrout Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 I was lucky enough to pick one up this last spring. Don was even nice enough to show me the shop and walk me through the process. It really gives you a lot more appreciation for the amount of time and effort that goes into each rod. I hit the Oldman with Bobloblaw and on my first cast with the new rod I hooked into a nice Cutt. (Steve has pics ) Nice little Brown from the Crow 3 Quote
Roast Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Very cool video, thanks for sharing. I thought don was using a Morgan hand mill now. Cool to see the tools used, both bought and engineered like the rod binder. Quote
ÜberFly Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Don is a true craftsman and conservationist! I have had the honour of fishing with him a few times and I hope to again in the near future! Thank you Don for all your volunteerism! Peter 1 Quote

DonAndersen Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Very cool video, thanks for sharing. I thought don was using a Morgan hand mill now. Cool to see the tools used, both bought and engineered like the rod binder. I use both the Morgan Mill and planing forms + planes. Depends on how I feel. Heading for the web site over the next week or so are several rods. Plus I have two more in the build line up. Kinda laid back this year. Only got 7 in the works. I think I'm spending too much time on the IPad >Facebook. Thanx for posting the video SD. Don Quote
SilverDoctor Posted February 23, 2016 Author Posted February 23, 2016 Your more than welcome Don. One of these days when I scratch together some sheckles you'll be building a SD special. Quote
