Buck
Hey guys, I hope 2015 was as good to you as it was to me; here is some of my favourites from around Alberta, BC & Iceland. There isn't a ton of trout porn in this, sometimes it's about journey and not the destination! murray
There are some real nice pictures there Buck. I liked the church, the archery, and the misty one with the dog and the guy on the water. They were all nice though.

jasonvilly
Loving seeing pictures of McDougall Stoney Mission Church. Reverend George McDougall was my great great grandfather. I loved spending time there as kid with my family. The rest of the pictures are equally amazing, you have a great eye.

MattyTaylor
Amazing pics Buck - thanks for sharing! How was the fishing in Iceland? A trip there is at the top of the list for my wife and I. I think could negotiate a some fishing gear accompaniment if my case is built appropriately.
Buck
Thanks guys! BiggyJ - That church is a pretty photogenic place, that's cool that you have some ties in your family to it! MattyTayler - Thanks man, the fishing in Iceland was a test. We stayed at a fishing lodge in Myvatn in Northern Iceland which has a reputation as one of the better Brown trout fisheries around those parts, and guys who had been coming to the lodge for the last 30 years said it was the coldest one on record, so there wasn't many fish caught those couple days which was a real bummer. However when we moved north, and did some DIY fishing, we started to get into some fish but we still encountered 35 k/m winds pretty much everyday so we had to improvise. I did see some absolute massive browns there (29inch +), but unfortunately didn't land any of the big boys. I do plan to go back there at some point in my life, it's a magical place and I would encourage anyone who is thinking of doing it to take the plunge. Most of the rivers there work on a "beat system", so you pay per day for a certain stretch of water. The prices ranged from $75 - $150, and I'm sure some of the Atlantic salmon beats are more expensive. I would recommend renting a campervan from one of the many rental companies there, and then just going at your own pace around the country. Everything is VERY expensive there, so making your own food is probably the way to go. A standard burger and fries ( nothing special ) would run you atleast $25 dollars. PM me if you end up going and I will give you all of the info that I have, I also have a pretty good DIY Iceland book which helped out as well. Cheers, Brodie
MattyTaylor
Awesome, thanks Brodie, really appreciate the intel. I'll definitely reach out when we decide to go... might have to wait this economy out for a while but we'll get there. Matt

FraserN
Like the picture of the church at Ghost. Been there many times over the years, fishing the reservoir for lakers and browns. A memorable place for me.
