pokerfish Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Why apologize they look great. Apology was for stealing the wordplay - a stack of stimmies, a bevy of blue, a klutch of klinks. Quote
Birdo Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Andicapp, is it snowshoe rabbits fur you are using for those bunny emergers? 1 Quote

pokerfish Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Working with a foam stone modification to include an underwing of thin packing foam. Also am trying the "butch caddis" trick for the elk hair - where the stems get folded back onto the tips. gets great floatation with the caddis, so I will see how it works here. I am looking forward to testing this. 9 Quote
lbrtacklesystems Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 Great stone tie, I use the folded elk hair for my caddis' but never thought of using it on the stonefly 1 Quote
BigFoamy Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 First go at a Jimmy Legs. Always wanted to give one a try, buddy gave me one last week and it produced immediately. Are the legs to long? I think the first segment from the body to the joint is. I love these, super buggy pattern and real easy. 4 Quote
bcubed Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 Skip the joint, it doesn't seem to add anything to them once in the water, and makes tying way faster 1 Quote
Popular Post SilverDoctor Posted May 15, 2016 Popular Post Posted May 15, 2016 A Doz Elk Hair, part of an order going out. Back in the 70's I took a summer off University and traveled some of the legendary Trout streams in the US. That I had only read about. One of the tier's that I was blessed to sit down with was Al Troth creator of the Elk Hair Caddis. Since then I tie these in his style. 11 Quote
SilverDoctor Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 2 kinds of Stimmies both standard and bushy. 4 Quote
Conor Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Pink. Do you find that effective or was it an order? Quote
SilverDoctor Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Very effective, the dubbing mix has a translucent look in the water the photo pushes the color a bit. Quote
fishinhogdaddy Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 I gather that you make the dubbing yourself? I really love the look and color. I sure learn a lot from your posts too, so thanks for showing your wares! FHD Quote
