cgyguy Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Unfortunately, I have three pairs of leaking waders. Does anyone have any surefire ways to find the leaks on these? Somethin tried and true would be great! Thanks in advance! Cgyguy Quote
jdangler Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Go to General topics - fishing related, I posted the same kind of the same question & got an answer that worked pretty well. I myself also used the bright light inside of waders when turned inside out Quote
BBBrownie Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Super easy. Squirt bottle and rubbing alcohol. Turn waders inside out, spray waders with rubbing alcohol. Leaks will show as dark spots. Mark each spot with a pen or marker. Coat with aquaseal. Allow to dry overnight. Works everytime. I occassionally find what seems like a hundred pinholes but extends the waders quite a ways and i rarely get wet. 2 Quote
SilverDoctor Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 This is an old method that works. Fill them full of water and look for the leaks. Quote
cgyguy Posted November 17, 2014 Author Posted November 17, 2014 Thanks folks - will give these a try Quote

BigFoamy Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 With Doc on this one. I turned mine inside out, took them out on the deck and filled them with water (garden hose) instant response. Quote
Nachako Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Sorry not to high jack this tread . I have a small pin hole in mybelly boat and even after taking a ribbing from the wife about trying to find it in the bath tub. I still can't find it. It's a Togiak with a fairly soft rubbery inner tube. Any ideas ??? Quote
bcubed Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 I'd fill it up, get a spray bottle with water and dish soap and look for where the bubbles are comjng from 1 Quote
FraserN Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 Just fill the pant legs of the wader and hold it under water in a bath tub. You should see tiny air bubbles coming out from the leaking area. Has always worked for me, even with the tiniest pin hole leaks. Then use repair kit as explained in the instructions. Quote
streamside Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Simms people say do not aquaseal over seams.... at least if you intend on sending them in at some time for repairs. Apparently they can not repair a seam if Aquaseal is on it. Holes pretty much appear instantly with the alcohol. Quote
