DonAndersen Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Now this is a fish story - a very small fish story. Was on Beaver and the coffee needed to be drained. Headed for the bank and cast once along the bank. Grabbed my hook and this is what was on it. Using live bait on Beaver - a hanging offence. But it occurred to me that there may be an upside. What if the minnow was attempting to get it on with my bug? Does that make the minnow a tad hopeful or me an excellent tier. Don 1 Quote
ÜberFly Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 I always figured there was a reason why you do so well at Beaver Don!! Busted!! Quote
Muffin Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 I will go with both, that is pretty funny. Quote
Crowsnest Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 I call bs... he wasn't 'casting', he was trolling...... Quote
DonAndersen Posted September 30, 2013 Author Posted September 30, 2013 Crow.. Now you know that the only people from Edmonton using plastic rods "troll"! And the above is a troll. Don Quote
flyfishy Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Don's just proved; he's matching" the hatch! Love the full barbless, and your minnow! Any fish that day , Don? Quote
DonAndersen Posted October 1, 2013 Author Posted October 1, 2013 Fly fishy, Friday & Saturday were OK - Sunday was downright crappy for me with 3 trout to hand all this years stock + one very tiny minnow. The trout came to black micro leeches. Others did better - no idea what they were using. Things are slowing down for winter. It's strange but none of us have seen any boatmen. Regards, Don 1 Quote
SilverDoctor Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 On another well know forum that would be considered a "Keeper". Nice match there Don. Looks a lot like that leech in color etc.. Quote
Crowsnest Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 my brother and I were fishing in Meadow Lake P.P and saw very few boatmen/backswimmers but the trout appeared to be going after them on the way back up. Quote
