jack
OK. Late last winter, using experimental salmon egg patters on the S. Thompson River, E. of Kamloops: After stillwater ice-off in the Cariboo, I went with "old faithful": As the productive stillwaters warmed and chironomids began to emerge: then during early June, the caddis emergers were pretty good: and this fall, in late September, the waterboatmen dropped while I was actually on the damn water !! j
beedhead
Nice flies Jack....Love that Boatman....Here is a boatman I created this Fall for still water Brookies....I call it the "Pumpkin Back"....Worked Well....Tried it at Bullshead, and they wouldn't even touch it....I got the Orange glass bead Idea from tallieho....Picked them up at Michaels..... Cheers...Jeff..
jack
Hi Jeff! What you can't see in that boatman is the foam wrapped on the hook shank that is then over-wrapped with the crystal chenille. That pattern is actually a "dry fly" in that it stays right on the surface, right in the surface film, creating a small, sub-surface wake, works very well as an attractant. j
flyfishy
Thanks Jack. I can only accept two flys per person for the contest.

Bigtoad
Ok, so here are my two favorites for the Bow this year. Both are a little worse for wear for obvious reasons. First one is a stonefly imitation that worked extremely well even into August on some picky fish. The second is a take on a san-juan worm but tied with sued. Super easy but also super effective as a dropper under the previously mentioned stonefly imitation. Cheers
