ironfly
Judging by the tail I'd say it's a laker, but the head makes me think bully. Maybe a hybrid?

CDone
Northern Pike Minnow, body shape will vary depending on type of water i.e. lake or river. Used to catch lots off the back of the house boat on the Shuswap. I remember as a kid dragging a huge one (7+lbs) up on the shore on the Kootenay Lake north of Nelson Colin

FraserN
Unquestionably a squawfish. Pretty common in southeastern B.C. lakes.
KnotLikely
I've had the unfortunate luck to catch way to many pike minnow this year all over BC. If it hit hard, and then came in like a wet sock...it's a pike minnow. They almost look like a trout from a distance, the mouth and the heavily forked tail, and the total lack of fight usually give it away. The ones I've caught usually have a brownish-green-gold colour and more defined scales almost more like a walleye, though some of the smaller ones I've caught are more on the silver side. Rick: If you want to catch one, let me know next time you're at your condo. If I'm up there I'll show you where to get some, but hopefully we get shut out of pike minnow in favour of some nice rainbows, and big bulls.
