  1. Goodyear wrangler Dura tracs. Had them on my 1500 for ever and never had a problem. Not to loud on highway, great tread life, great on back roads and mud and ok in the winter. I moved up to a 2500 and now I'm running toyo open country at2 xtremes which are great so far. My brother in law has the dura tracks on his f450 and loves them.
  2. I'm kinda of a sunglass nut (30+ pairs) I pretty much have a pair or two of everything. So far I prefer the Maui Jim's and or keanon's, I do find that Maui's and keanon's are more on the fragile side if you opt for the glass lenses (the one and only downfall in my opinion). Smith's chroma pop lenses come in a close third and I do like the Costas as well. Obviously the Maui's are very expensive but worth the investment. Keanons are a little cheaper but not by much and get the job done to the point of it being personal preferance as far as style and fitment between the 2. The Smith's are great and can be found for a little less money but personally I wouldn't bother with anything other than the chroma pop lens if fishing is your main focus for purchasing. Never had a issue with any of my Costas and there bullet proof. Just depends on how much your willing to invest.
  3. Looking to start pike fishing but dont know where to go. Obviously there's some info on the internet, but I figured I'd ask here. I've only fished for trout and steelhead until I got the chance to fish on Christina lake and had a blast. I have all the gear just need some direction. Looking for a spot somewhat close to the city (1 - 1.5 hrs travel is no big deal). Sold my drift boat last year so I'm confined to the shore. Any guidance is greatly appreciated. Feel free to send me a DM. Always up to having someone join me as well if that interests anyone. Thanks in advance for any info.

  6. I keep a copy in my glove box and one in my back pack. Although a fishing version of the ihunter app would be pretty awesome, I think I'd still keep a paper copy in the glove box. I like how paper copies never run out of batteries.
  7. Looking to purchase a new pup and cant seem to come up with anything local-ish on the internet. Anyone know of any breeders of blue ticks in AB, BC, or SASK ? closest I can find is Ontario. Don't necessarily need to have papers but not looking for mixed. Thanks.
  8. I've started trying to build my collection of saddle hackles. Just wondering what guys find the most versatile hackles (used on the widest range of flys you tie). I have grizzly, blue dun, and a medium ginger barred. Would like to purchase a couple more.

  10. Won't allow me to post. Says my photo file size is to big. Not tech savvy so not sure what to do.
  11. Thanks Doug. I already talked to them, just know how long it usually takes when i order somethijng in from a fly shop and impatient at the best of times.
  12. Anyone know where a guy can pick these up or a Canadian site I can order them from? I know I can order them online from the states....just refuse to order from the states and pay shipping and duty. Haven't been able to find them locally, unless I'm just not looking hard enough. Thanks
  13. Just wondering if anyone has any info on tying ant patterns with uv resin. I'd like to give them a go but not sure how well they work or how to tie them. I've seen some tied with foam under the uv and some without. Just trying to get a pattern that's solid and floats good.
  14. Not sure what your budget is but I'd take a look around for some pre owned gear. Might be able to set up both rods for less than you thought. Steelheading is awesome but chances are most of your fishing will be done locally (I'm assuming) and I think you'll find an 8wt to big (although it will work). Personally I would get a rod to serve my purpose where I'd be doing the majority of my fishing and then wait for the right deal(s) to come along to peice together a steelhead set up (or 2). I always bring a back up rod......I've needed it on more than one occasion lol
  15. I love my foam cutters. Only problem i have is the price lol
  16. Thought this was pretty rad. http://www.strikeindicator.com/
  17. It doesn't matter if you put "price is firm" "no trades" "serious injuries only" Etc. Etc.......people will always try and lowball you....offer trades....and waist your time. Part of the kijiji game. I even put phone calls only so people are forced to call me.....you get way less inquiries but there from people that are actually interested.
  18. I have netflix and crave tv that i run off an apple tv = $20/month. I also have an android box (with kodi downloaded to it) that gives me everything else i require. I have 2 chromecast devices because it makes it very easy to stream content from youtube and google apps that i control via my cell phone. The android box will deliver everything you can imagine as long as it has the right programs, youtube and a couple websites will run you through what you need to do. Between netflix, crave tv, and kodi i have no need for cable anymore. Just a good high speed internet connection. I also subcribe to google play music that gives you all the music you could ever handle for $12/month
  19. My buddy just started a mobile tackle truck on Van island. Drives around and sells tackle similar to an ice cream truck. Might be a more cost effective option. People are always forgeting or needing this or that.
  20. If you can cast a fly with it..I LOVE IT but if i had to choose my favorite rod(s) LOOMIS NRX 6WT SAGE Z-AXIS 5wt SCOTT RADIAN 7wt I love them all
