  1. my mom won a plasma tv. i went out to van to visit her and she tried to get me to mount it on the wall for her. grr. not the issue - it was the last a** that put up the tv stand that couldnt find the studs and drove the drywall anchors all the way through so all the screws did was spin around. ended up having to take out the piece of drywall and put in a new one. i hate mudding and taping.
  2. i'll reply while it is still in the wrong spot. lol the castle is beautiful, try access east of 507 from the bridge and head southeast (should be down stream if i remember correctly) the turn off is just north of the town of beaver mines. we never made it as far as the canyon as there are a ton of pools. one of these days i will get down that far. next season i guess. you can also try the carbondale, good access - gas plant road and lots of camping spots. if you want the FTR, try dutch or racing horse - both have campsites and are north of hwy 3. on the way you can try the livingstone and again there is access from FTR at the bridge good fishing
  3. nice job AL. i cant wait to get mine. it will be a nice addition to the sbs you have already posted
  4. definately full. you get a better effect with the spray and all. more satisfaction too. then drink 2 and take an asprin, continue tying. the one in the picture was oh, about 3 hours once i finished fiddling. the flies i use for fishing are average 15min depending on how much material and if i've done the patern before. some only take 5, others take 1/2 an hour.
  5. where are the sheep? pretty pics al, thanks for sharing. maybe one day...
  6. if it's not mine... that would make rickr a cross dresser? hummm. i knew you southern boys were 'different' but, ummm, well, riiiggght
  7. why? did you actually want to hear what he had to say. home much could there be. it's a toilet tank with fish in an inside tank. at least she's cute. and really, that is the only important thing. isn't it?
  8. ahhh, right. gallow - the place once used to hang people. thanks. i guess i could have guessed that it was an apperatus used for hanging things. told you it was a stupid question
  9. oh i am so full of stupid questions... what's a gallows tool
  10. damn it Clive... i was wondering where that went
  11. oh wow, i like the red butterfly. oh think i need A LOT more practice before i post anymore creations. need more beer and to throw a few bobbins around. i need to go to a hobby shop and pick up some super glue and a third hand. oi.
  12. i picked up the diamond dub in peacock yesterday for my leeches. i guess it is close enough to the ice. i'm going to tie in the morning. i'll let you know how it goes
  13. thanks for the advice again to all. great article AL and sbs Flyangler - i like to flatten beer cans against my forehead. it works wonders. but seriously, i will assume now that you tied the butterfly... how did you get the jungle cock on the end of the macaw feathers. that was something else i was going to do with the dragonfly next go around. but i am using cul du canard for the wings as it is more transparent. just superglue on the back of the jungle cock and position on the bottom feather. i just roosted through my other, other box of feathers and discovered a pheasant collar and saddle i cleaned and dried last year, nice burgundies and teal/greens. i'm thinking of doing the short shank hook, minimal floss on the body, burgundy wire legs, the blue eyes and burgundy/teal beads and dubbing on stiffer wire. and then using the more rounded pheasant feathers for the wings, with some jungle cock.
  14. and your fly tying gear to me for proper disposal as well. since you would no longer be needing it.
  15. thanks Flyangler. great pic. i'd like to see some more of minnesota if have a few more pics. love the ice and the waterfall in the background. hey, btw. love the little cartoon fly.
  16. And this would be why i always wondered why they put a hockey team in dallas hockey game sounds good. i'll be sure to sharpen my elbow pads. i wonder if i can still skate?

  18. we still have to go fishing mike. maybe next year i will get you into tying. come over to the dark side. lol but yeah, i could use the extra hand. so you could either drive out here to calgary and maybe do my breaks and an oil change while you're at it and i'll tie you some flies or i could just go down to the electonics shop and pick up another hand. they probably have something like that at house of tools or princess auto
  19. oh, flytyer, i like the idea of the pick a number - unknown, numbered fly swap. or the bergman style - perhaps another one we could do with the UK boys at a later date
  20. what exactly IS a czech nymph anyway. i keep hearing about them and reading bits and pieces here and there, but i have no idea as to what they are specifically. generally, i get the concept that it is a nymph and certain style of nymphing... or is that like asking what a bergman fly is? a number of different yet similar patterns in style and application as well as usage
  21. difficult not to ... i've tried really, really hard and yet, there it is. all sticky outy and looking like a belly button lint trap.
  22. lol. best that i dont explain it then.
  23. well... it's a short story
