great topic...and lots of great stories..i love that we all fish for different reasons and its different those reasons that brought us to flyfishing.......caught my first back in 89 bait fishin.....bait n raps got boring quick n started flyfishin in late elementary school........was frustrating as hell..but it was the next step for me and started too really pick it up in my teens... made my dad scratch his head and look at me funny tho

hey dude check out teh special events..there was a bowriver cleanup lastyear...i believe wongrs of pacres did a little wright up on it..im sure there will be another this eyar...i smoek and at tiems pack out my butts and otehr times i dotn...cant really tell ya why..when im fishing the smaller creeks and streams i pack everything out......you could try tlaking too people and whatnot on teh river..theres others out there that do too...just remebr you will get lots of positive feedback from most....but dotn let teh negative ones put ya down too much

what brent said...your hands are suppose too be on your cork...applying pressure (holding teh blank) stresses the blank in a funny spot when your hand is up above the cork...ive seen a few rods break and saw alot of video and heard of more than a few stories about the same thing.......try choaking up on the cork and burry teh but in your forarm...fighting buts are key for a little extra leverage.......

what whistler is trying too say i think ........if u have a 9 foot rod and fish from shore you have a 12 foot distance (im guess) from teh ground too teh tip of the rod...once you wade out and stand in 1 foot of water you loose 1 foot of distance from the rod tip too the ground and your at 11ft...2 feet of water 2 feet of distance 10 ft...it changes the way you halfto cast too get teh same cast u had on shore.......i noticed when i was fishing my spey on shore then waded out mid thy the difference how my line/rod would cast ...i was getting way to much line stick and the d loop wasnt as tall... i would halfto have a higher casting position(above my head) too get the same type of d-loop i was on shore...please correct me if im wrong and way out there...
