  1. im gettin green peace after you! peta too! jsut dont tell them i drive a V8 and torture them feesh too!
  2. lmao taht sucks rick. now u halfto actaully "drive" too go fishing LMAO!!!
  3. nope sorry dude... was a older model.... courtney i like too play! re inventing the wheel aka chopping lines is all apart of the fun. and yes i am using the 5/6 switch for my loop but just want too run something different for kicks..... playing around with your gear is what its all about and helps you understand everything alot more IMHO.... i took taht other elixer line i had for the switch teh 6/7 or 7/8 wichever it was and made a short 16foot compact mini mini skagit for a 9ft 6wt single hander of mine.. is hilarious too toss.... turns over some mega streamers too with the flick of the wrist..... fishign has bin stellar hear aswell.. hans really tapered off IMHO.... i like muddy water.. but she is clearing up and the dryfly fishign is soon too begin! goodluck rob and looking forward too reading your post and checkin your pics from you travels!
  4. yup! jsut focus a little tighter too the banks and not soo far out into the chop like hte past few days.. streamers might not be a bad bet either.
  5. yup like cheeler mentioned poly leaders are made with a mono core with a co-polymur outer core so there like mint flyline tips.. heres a link too teh airflow ones... http://www.flylines.com/Flylines_Polyleaders_Freshwater.cfm
  6. the conversion kit from tfo is for double overhand casting.. not to burst your bubble. but i had a few friuends looking into this kit and it seemed she dotn spey cast all too great. i could check out some "switch" lines.. beulah makes one in teh elixer series.. rio makes some afs heads as low as 320 i believe maybe 340.. still may be a littl too heavy.... back too the double overhand conversion kit.. i could see it twisting on you a bit but taping the ferrals would eliminate that...good luck on your search for a line too match the rod.. but ive bin loving the beulah elixer for my 11'2" 7wt loop opti switch( i mean one/double hander), thinking about going too a loop custom head in the future... so i can chop it back and get it perfect!
  7. thanks dude.. i here ya lorney.. once the water drops it should be a hella good month!
  8. cowboy casting! focus on the loop
  9. love the underhand cast... kiss n go!
  10. spent halfdozen days or so in june fishing them mountain areas.... bin having a blast.... got out with din and LK a few times.... streams are all up and clear and its bin a struggle too say the least getting them too rise but fishing still hasnt bin too bad on the nymphs and streamers....... should be a super phat tight dope july...... enjoy home away from home i no they are down there somewere
  11. furled leaders are good. but i like the poly leaders a number of comanies make in 5 10 and 15 feet floating ones are great for dryfly fishing . they turn over amazing and you dont halfto fish more than a few feet of tippet off them wich makes casting easy... back too your original question dude i use a tapered leader when nymphing and change it when it bust off..... if you are cutting back and it starts too get pretty short and teh mono is thick you can either use another one or add on some heavier tippet and taper it down yourself too save youa few bucks.. a simple way too make your own tapered leader would too be a 4 3 2 method.... 4 feet of lets say 15lb then 3 feet of 10 lb and 2 feet of 8lb..... streamers i like too go 3 2 1 usually 3 of 25lb 2 of 20lb and 1 of 15lb
  12. was out fishin them cutties and at the end of the day i thought i saw bigfoot on teh top of a mountain....so i took a pic jsut for you birchy! but then i figured out it was on my beercan! so bigfoot does exist somewere i suppose LMAO!!! cheers buddy!

  20. what a month.. hit my second biggest flyrod brown too date at 29(SJW ran into him a few days later) and slammed many others... the bows are back in town from teh spawn too with more and more seen every day....now the rivers are clearin up and the cutty streams are open for a new world of wonders!!! ... enjoy!
  21. dope report dude!!!
  22. sick pics du! think i saw dekkard in whole sale a few days back buying the secret weapons too.... wasnt a tough guess once i saw the selection and heard if odd request for a peticular fly someone ties dope post and sick pics once again dude!
  23. aint the difference between a integrated running line and connecting something like slick shooter just that? figre the "slower short rear taper" was just too give a smoother connection.... i think its a prefrence thing....... i like integrated running lines when i am fishing nymphs and streamers while stripped but if i am just throwin bombs n swinging, slick shooter is the way too go IMHO
