how about no kill then make it all c& r if yall figure lettingthe the 1 or 2 under rule wouldnt work and spending the same budget on bigger fish when stocking.. how many got put in 30 000 in and around 10 inches.. why not make is 3000 at 20 inches? still i think this would be more of a waste of tiem only because at teh first turnout for the reg changes us c7r types were insainley outnumbered.... i still think my first option is the way too go.. keep the stocking the same i dotn think that many more fish would be kept and killed.. doubled if any and that wouldnt make anywere near the total population... even if a few hundred made it each eyar there would be in a few years a couple thousand if not more mega sized trout in teh lake...... good enough for me....
what i have ibn doing is using a color code system with sharpies....(picked up a 30color pack or sumn liek that form staples sick for fly tying too!) just make a double stripe... colors ive bin using is... purple is 14 blue is 11 green is 8 and brown is 6 then for lengths i use red for 15ft orange for orange for 12ft and yellow for 10 ft so if the tip is blue and orange i know its a 12ft t11... basically the darker and warmer the color teh longer and heavier it is.. bin wokring for me.. got outta hand and made way too many tips in way too many lengths wanting too have one for everything and i figure i am almost there but i really only use one or two for the situations i fish in alberta.. btu if i head out west or elsewere i will be laughin if i need a length n weight..... hope that helps dude!
how do u maintain trophy fish in a lake if they are allowed too be killer? taking 1 or 2 fish out under 20 would allows the few fish that reac h20 each year too grow bigger (trophy fish) and would allow mor efood for the smaller fish.. its not like this lake is going too get fished out...... would take quardouple the poaching ide say... upping the size too 24 will only allow fish too get a inch or two bigger maybe.. probably not.. but removing more smaller fish would allow more room(not food) too grow bigger.. any of yall ever have a fish tank? when fish get crowded tehy realease a hormone.. it tells tehr ebodies too slow down growing... but when the other fish are removed or even a smaller number of them the fish know they can continue too grow.. i just dont get having a trophy lake were any fish taht gets near a trophy size gets wacked...... let teh meat fishmen have 2 little ones instead.... leaving the trophies in teh lake...
oh hells yea! but like u said russ we shoulda stepped on tehre throat early... im all for protecting the lead and playing a more defensive hockey but it was a little sketchy once htey tied it up.. great game tho!
wholesale has em forsure.. might have em in some of teh smaller flyshops too.. they are alright but dont work too too great for long periods of time like tungsten has posted. but worth a shot
i also learned that when a buddy hollers at you in the morning when ur passed out wanting too take u out for a days steelheading but u already got plans too go slam some new epic spots in alberta is a freakin toss up and would be and still was a blast wichever place u went... i hate u brian..... jj

ive usually seen redds in knee deep too waiste deep.. usually tailouts, moderatefast riffles or sidechannels... could be test redds and maybe she wont freeze too teh bottom? if there was only a few inches of water traveling over the eggs i figure they should be fine. but that is a hella good quesiton russ
